I'm hardly an expert in music, but one of the sound tracks in this VN given the title "Oath" sounds familiar. I'm pretty sure I've heard pieces like it in other games, though I can't actually name any of the top of my head. Is it based of of some famous piece of music? If so, does anybody know what it is?

The combination of description and tags sound slike this could be a decent mix of comedy and serious story.

Anyone played this already?

Now that I've played 2 and a half routes, I feel I can provide an informed answer to your question.

The story has a much darker theme than the rom-com about high class society that the description and tags suggest. While there are certainly rom-com elements present, I would not claim that to be the heart of this VN. As of the two and a half routes I've read, it does NOT get into gore or depravity, but don't expect a lighthearted fluffy romance.

Major spoilers follow about the overall plot, but not much about specific characters, read at your own risk.

Spoiler

Keep in mine I've only played two and a half routes as of when I wrote this. Given the enforced playing order of the routes, I believe this is what vndb.org might call a "multiple route mystery" where each route reveals more of the overall story, so things might deviate from what I'm writing here in the routes I haven't played.

The protagonist is the sole survivor of his family who was betrayed by their vassals and has sworn revenge against the four individuals who are responsible, the school's principle being the chief offender. While the protagonist is selective in his targets, only actually targeting the guilty and not doing anything shit-headed like raping the targets 100% innocent daughter, he has no remorse over fallout that will befall the daughter that came from his act of revenge.

As a point of note, based on what I've read of the story so far, I do not belief the villains where entirely wrong to stage their betrayal and coup, only that they went way to far and DID do shit-headed things like kill innocent children of their target (or at least tried to, one of the children survived or there would be no one to carry out the revenge). Had the villains only targeted their leader and left his family alone, much like the protagonist is only targeting his the villains and leaving their family alone, I would say justice is on the side of the villains.

I dont deal well with overly dramatic stories.

The only 3 "non-fluff" VNs ive read were the original Bible black (pretty good),

Saya no Uta (extremely boring, had it been longer i wouldnt have finished)

and Sakura no Mori Dreamers (did not finish; quit ~2/3 trough; not because of the gore).

Which of these 3 would you say comes closest?

I did not read the spoiler.

I'll start with the conclusion: Given your statement "I dont deal well with overly dramatic stories." this probably isn't the VN for you.

It is closet to Sakura no Mori Dreamers by virtue of the fact I haven't played the other two. I started bible black but got discouraged by it's lack of good ends, or at least the difficulty of finding the good endings and Saya no Uta, if it's the title I'm thinking of, seems to be overly depressing and filled with gore, so I didn't even touch that one.

These are minor spoilers, as you pretty much figure it out very early into the common route, but they ARE spoilers since it wasn't mentioned in the description, so I'm hiding it a spoiler box, but I can't really further answer Vulkandrache's question with out mentioning it. Unlike above, the warning "read at your own risk" isn't really necessary. Like I said, they're only technically spoilers in the sense it's not mentioned in the VN description.

Spoiler

It IS slightly similar to Sakura no Mori Dreamers in that it the protagonist is driven by revenge. Unlike Sakura, the protagonist has spent seven long years building up resources, changing his identity, and dedicating his entire life to revenge. You can no longer really call the protagonist a "normal" person. In Sakura, the protagonist's grudge and desire for revenge were what kept him propped up and able to function, but outside of that, you could still call him "normal", if damaged.

Super power also come into play as the school in question is dedicated to students who have supper powers. As far the background of the existence supper powers goes, it's an established fact that super power exist in the world, it isn't a surprise at this point, but it's still a very new thing. The school only has about 200 students, and that probably represents 70% or more of everyone in existence that has supper powers, world wide.

This one IS a spoiler, so reader beware, but it's a relatively minor one, and it is probably helpful towards answering Vulkandraches's question.

Spoiler

Of the three routes I've played so far, all the heroines come with some serious baggage of one kind or another.

While I, personally, am enjoying this VN, I am a little annoyed the by the misdirection/Bait and Switch of the description. It makes sound like a lighthearted fluffy rom-com romance about high society, but it really isn't. Had I actually bought this title rather than being an illegal cheapskate and playing this pirated version, I would be writing a serious letter of complaint to Neko Nyan Soft and Akatsuki Works (English Translated version and original Japanese version companies). Given that I AM an illegal cheap skate, "I got what I payed for" is probably accurate.

Dang, I survived scrolling to the bottom without reading anything haha. I played this one long time ago with maybe ATLAS or the vntl tools, I forgot, it has an enforced route path so to speak, I can't get to the 'main' heroine's route before other's. Kinda sapped my motivation for playing it...

Though seeing this are translated now, is there any active tl on the fandisc? kinda interested on one, maybe two of the supporting characters...the maid and the one carrying a fan..I think.

The fan disc is built into this title. In fact, I litterally just started it. However, it is locked behind the "base game". If you want to play, I suggest just enabling the skipping of unread text and blasting through the four "base game" routes.

The enforced playing order, hidden by a spoiler box, is:

Spoiler

1.) Akahito Tamao (The orange haired heroine)

2.) Katsuragi Sorako (The gold-blond haired heroine who wares a man's uniform)

(Those two can actually be played in either order, but there is an implied intent for Tamao to be first.)

3.) Takazaki Eru (The wheat-blond haired short heroine)

4.) Otonashi Saku (The black-haired heroine)

During the segments where you make a choice, you'll notice the heroines faces appear alongside some of the choices. During one such segment, the face of the teacher "Yomise Tokino" shows up as if she is a heroine. I'm 90% certain you have to select that choice as part of the effort to activate Otonashi Saku's route.
