Do you have a friend/friends who are also into eroge/VNs?

How many IRL friends do you have that also play eroge/VNs?

  1. 1. How many IRL friends do you have that also play eroge/VNs?

    • None; you are the lone protagonist of your life with no supporting characters
      33
    • One; you have exactly one friend who shares in your tastes
      6
    • 2-3; you have two or three friends who also play (one is most likely comic relief)
      8
    • 4 or more; you're a member of a group of eroge lovers
      6

I've heard of both cases, but I'm curious to see just how many of us have found comrades in our real lives that play eroge as well. As for me, I don't know anyone who plays eroge and I don't think anyone else knows I do. Must be nice...

as far as i know none. it wouldn't be that odd if i found out they played eroge seeing as my friend group all like anime i would say theirs a 40% chance that one of them has ever played a eroge but i have no idea it isn't like i can just ask them if they have played eroge before and if i did ask what are the chances they would answer honestly i know i wouldn't answer honestly if they asked me.

Hmmm... It seems like there are several people who have friends tht they suspect play as well but don't know for sure. Looks like I made the poll too restrictive hehe. It also looks like having a group of friends is second in the poll, but nobody has posted with a situation like that, so who knows what that must be like.

I think visual novels are traditionally considered a solo activity. I know not every VN is adult rated, but the stereotype says there's a high probability. With the way the games straddle(no pun intended) that line between porn and 'acceptable' media, the stigmata that we have as a species and our modern cultures keep us from discussing our games to people we know in real life.

Maybe it might come up in a serious romantic atmosphere like a date, where I was trying to learn about someone else and they me, but just like sexual fetishes, it's not really something I would bring up in casual conversation. As open and understanding as I'd like to think I am, I know I'm rather withdrawn and anti-social.

It's a bit funny how some people think it matters. Personally I'm much more open and can discuss such things online, I don't really need the awkwardness and culture shock from the people I know locally if I tried to discuss those interests with them.

I agree with Haika. But there are still times when I would like to talk to someone about a really funny scene in an eroge, or which character you like best (anyone from protagonist to side character). You know, to enjoy a good laugh. I admit it's a fleeting feeling, but it doesn't go away that easily.

From what I wrote you must have figured it out, but I like to state the obvious so I'm gonna say it anyway: I do not have any friends whom I play eroge with (had to say concerning the main point of this thread)
