Symphonic Rain

Our story follows Kanoue Yuuma, an amnesiac boy with a special power, and Nikaidou Shinku, a translucent girl only visible to Yuuma who gave him that power. With it, he can heal any and all wounds.
But it comes at the cost of the memories he's made.
He lives a simple life: going to school and being scolded by his childhood friend, Kisaragi Mio, by day, and working with his master, Natsume Suzu, in the evenings.
However, whenever he falls asleep, he always sees the same dream... a white world, feathers falling, and a girl calling out for him to save her.
The student dormitory his master resides in has a special door in the basement, which connects their world to a myriad of different parallel ones. He travels from world to world, searching for one that resembles the scenery he sees in his dreams, but to no avail.

Then, one night, as he's out at night strolling around town, he spots a girl jumping from the lighthouse.
Yuuma rushes over and heals her using his power, but after coming to, the girl claims to know him and his power, and asks him much like the voice in his dreams:

"Please save me, Kanoue Yuuma."

One day, a young chef Raylan and his mentor went together to the mountains to gather ingredients. Little did they know that they would encounter a heavy thunderstorm, and a hostile scouting party. In order to escape pursuit by the enemy, Raylan ran for his life in the mountain forest. Soon afterwards, lightning started a fire around an area, and he stumbled upon a large hole in a tree. Inside, he encountered a mysterious girl in a deep sleep who resembled Sleeping Beauty, but before he could wake her up to find out what happened to her, everything turned black for some reason...

At the end of the magnificent play, the highly esteemed girl found a kernel of truth.

Years pass and spring arrives.
In a freshman welcoming party, a certain program will catch the protagonist Sewa Tamaki's eye.

"Welcome to the Lampyris Troupe!"

A guerilla public performance that would be held by a student theatre group.
The protagonist, once debuted as a child prodigy but now left the path of the theatre arts, indulged in nostalgic memories.

2016.

Inre Island.

A seemingly idyllic, modern island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. A constant tranquil breeze along a mild climate, and a well-off society embracing a harmonious way of life. Its citizens often refer to the island as their very own miracle, counting themselves lucky to have been born on it. Tourism is low despite Inre being a highly desired travel destination, and for good reason. Not only is it a trip only the rich can afford, a rigorous regime means a special visa is required for entry.


2018.

Over a course of six months, a lethal biological attack claims a significant amount of lives. While tragedy occupies people's minds to the brim, a controlling governmental plan is constructed and put into motion. All to prevent such attacks from ever occurring again. The following years, Inre Island's citizens face unexpected change from their usual ways. On a sombre day – damp, dark, and horrifying – the internet is shut down, leaving the island disconnected from the world around it.


2020 - present.

After a long internet-less spring tinged with uncertainty, a new system to replace it with is introduced. A new "internet" along digital setbacks result in major changes to everyday life. Unable to adapt, many find themselves spiritually stuck in a world that no longer exists.

Suddenly, the island appears shrouded in mysteries. The closed hearts are many. A select few want a way out. But most want to reset and forget.

People who never would've met, meet.

People who never would've loved, love.

An island that had never known sadness, knows it now.

Cerulean Days is set in 2020, and follows two outliers of society – mellow Michael and competent Séverine – as they discover the true effects of 2018. Amidst tragedy of lost friends and family bonds are grown, solace is found, feelings blossom, truth is discovered, and conspiracies are seemingly unraveled.
