It has been several hundred years since the last showdown of the “Shrine Maiden” and the “King of Yokais,” which led to the Shrine Maiden sealing the King of Yokais at the cost of her life. Nowadays, yokais are rarely seen, and those who used special power to fight against yokais back in the days brought their talent to a new type of competition, the “Jinmu Festival,” and competed against each other like celebrities.
 
However, the King of Yokais never perished, and as its seal weakens day by day, the yokais hidden in the unmanned territory are starting to stir.
 
Meanwhile, the Shrine Maiden in the current era, a girl named Rinne, has transferred to a school that specializes in cultivating Jinmu Festival players. While getting to know new companions and lovers here, Rinne will battle yokais and discover the secrets behind Shrine Maidens.

Janieve High is your average all-girl high school. The only thing that makes it stand out is that it is the first school in the country to try out the bridge year initiative. Claudia Flaurance, great-granddaughter of the school’s founder, takes this opportunity to be part of the first wave of students for this optional seventh year of high school. Now that she finds herself alone and without friends in a class full of girls who have known each other for years, her new life at her ancestral school can begin.

Two other girls, Gabriella and Michelle, won’t let Claudia be friendless for long though. Together they try to find a school club to join to solidify their friendship.
