Question on Kamidori Alchemy master

I'm on chapter 4 and there's a event in Kania wasteland which requires the usual 3 characters. But the problem is that no character goes into the battlefield after I begin combat. In the deploy section it is empty also, is this a glitch or am i suppose to do something prior to this?

Lol... I came to the same conclusion, but dont worry Basically just press "Begin Battle" when you click the map to enter it, then when they stop talking, look in your bottom left corner and there will be the boxes where you pick the characters to deploy, and then plant them near the base in the map
