  1. Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate. I am watching the anime and plot is not so great, but I simply loved the heroines. Aomi-chan is pretty charming and Sumiyoshi is very charismatic. I'd love to play the VN, but I'd take five times longer to play it in Japanese than I would to do it in English (and the dictionary searches would annoy me a lot), so I will patiently wait for an unlikely-to-happen translation.

  2. ok..this will be a spoiler but

    Ryou never a heroine >.>

    she's a Bad ending!!!!!!!!!

thats explain how Kyou's route is picked up

    and for me...

its TOMOYO>KYOU>KOTOMI and etc while nagisa dont even deserve a place

Poor Nagisa, she's so adorable and yet everyone seems to hate her. >__>

For me, in my anime-based opinion, it is Kyou>Tomoyo>Nagisa>Kotomi>Fuuko>Sunohara's sister (Mei, isn't it?)>that girl from the abandoned library>Ryou.

  3. Nope, I never played this.

Anyway, in the scale of 0 to 10, how will you rate this game, Tonhao?

I might try it if the vn is interesting enough.

Well, it isn't a great game, but it is enjoyable. It isn't a game I would recommend like I do with True Love. Besides, it's a dating sim, so you won't get a deep story like a VN (just in case it's a problem to you). I'd give a 6.

And Caelitas, I wouldn't say it is that bad, but the English dub and the design may be a bit annoying. The gameplay is good imo, though. But you need a lot of time to see the endings, since you have to build your stats a little before reaching most of them and you have to start all over when you finish a character's route. So maybe most people won't have the patience to put up with these problems.

  4. It's a good dating sim, even though one may look it with some prejudice because it's an American game and you can't skip its horrible opening music the first time.

But the main reason I opened a new thread is because I hated the change of routes the game made. I was trying Aya's path, I only dated her and the her affection was the highest, but in the end the game simply decided that Kiku was the girl for my character, so I entered her route without knowing her background story. That's lame. =/

  5. Actually sexual content make me kinda feel unconformable playing the game. i like school days story but the sex scene make me get all jumpy because i live with my parents (after all, i am 16). so if you got any more without sexual content i'll really enjoy see it. also a side note, i haven't PLAYED other eroges but i think i can swallow more text based storys, i like school days but there are little choices. I don't know why but i'm under the impression that more text then animation brings more choices. since this one has animated story, it doesn't need too be as intuitive as the other more "text oriented" eroges to get your attention, am I right?

So you're like me. Personally, I think that sex scenes are usually senseless (there are exceptions, though). Well, Ever 17 doesn't have sex too, so one more reason to play it. ^^

Well, if you like reading, you will like VNs better than the SD anime-style eroge. SD is cool for a change, but I like texts the most.

But there isn't this relation between text/anime games and choices (if I understood you right). Some eroges may have a little number of choices or outcomes that you won't be able to foresee from choices and still are long-texted VNs.

  6. Right now started playing school days. it's my first eroge and it's really fun, it's like an anime where you chose the story and i really find this one awesome, (well, i don't have something to compare it to but i do enjoy it a lot) if you guys have any recommendations i'm all down.

Hm... Maybe you will feel a bit the difference between SD and other eroges, since the first is like watching an anime and the latters are like reading a book.

Anyways, if you liked the high school background, maybe you could try Crescendo or Clannad. Btw, Clannad doesn't have sexual content (as far as I know, at least), just in case it is a "must have" to you.

I'd recommend Ever 17 too. It uses the Visual Novel perspective very well and has a very interesting story.

  7. It's quite fun, deep story lots of feels.

"It's like a more mature version of Clannad, without magic to fix up your mistakes"

Somebody said that to me earlier.

I'd say characters in Crescendo are a little less charismatic than in Clannad. And they focus more on the "high school nostalgia" in the first than in the latter. Since I had just finished high school myself by that time, I loved Crescendo. But I still enjoyed Clannad more (until the part I played, at least).

  8. I love most old eroges, specially True Love. Also Ever 17 and FSN.

And I hate Gun Katana. It was my first experience with eroguro and yaoi (I had no idea there was a shemale in the game and I discovered in the worst way possible -_-'), and I don't intend to repeat it. Besides, the FPS part was boring as hell and the story wasn't good enough (at least the part that my poor Japanese knowledge let me understand) to keep me going through those boring shooting levels.

  9. Well the text's from a site called "somewhat humor blabla.something" so I wouldn't take this story too seriously.

I thought I had seen the news in G1 (a serious Brazilian news website), but it was G17 (the parody version of G1). So yep, I should have kept my mouth shut (or keyboard, idk).

  10. exactly what kind of excitement hmm? lol jk ;)

The non-sexual type of excitement, usually XD

Btw, in Brazil we use the word "excitado" with the sexual meaning. I thought that English was different and that I could use "excitement" without this meaning. Was I wrong? >:

  11. if thats the case i'd rather have visual novels continue to be a underground community kind of thing :/

Yep, I don't mind it too. Although I get really excited when I find people to talk about VNs. I was so happy when I found out in Anime Friends (an anime event that happens every July in Brazil) some guys that played Tsukihime and FSN and I was able to talk to them and discuss 'bout the differences between the anime and the novels. (:

  12. The main problem of VN being unpopular lies in that 70% of the VN contains sex scenes. Therefore,VN gives an impression of being a perverted stuff and most people avoid it because of 18 + tag.

Even for me,the all-ages VN i have played so far are clannad, little busters and ever-17 the out of infinity.(i have played 20 VN so far, only 3 of them being all age)

I entirely agree with you. But idk, I guess the game industry knows whether they would sell if they removed the mature content of most VNs, so maybe it's necessary to have sex pics... (Even though I wouldn't miss them in most cases.)

  13. if you like watching subbed anime visual novels are basically the same thing but it has more story, etc. so it shouldnt be a problem

Actually, the gap between subbed anime and VN is the same between movies and books. VNs have much more text than anime subs.

Btw, answering to the original subject of this thread: here in Brazil most people don't even know about VNs and think that anime is "kid's stuff". Even among anime lovers it's hard to find people who know VNs and those who do usually think that VN = hentai = perverted stuff. Thus VN isn't a very popular product and it isn't even sold around here. If I want to support a company, I must buy from foreign websites.

  14. I simply loved Ever 17 and Fate/Stay Night, they're the best ever. After them, Tsukihime and G-Senjou no Maou were great too. Seasons of the Sakura was a great VN also. Although I would say that True Love is my favorite eroge, but it isn't a VN, it is a Dating Sim, so it doesn't fit the thread.

Although I'm kind of grateful to Sagara Family, since it opened my "path" to recent Visual Novels, even if its story wasn't that great. If it wasn't Sagara, I would only have known the old school stuff, like True Love, Seasons of the Sakura, Virtual Date May Club, Runaway City and Paradise Heights.

  15. Guys, I've installed the game, updated to 1.02 and it worked fine... until the end of chap V (Hikari's Route). When it was going to show the chapter ending credits, the game enters in a black screen and nothing happens anymore. And the game doesn't stop working, it simply stays with the black screen. Any ideas, please? ):
