I heard it does get a bit slow during the middle, but nice to see you liked it overall with some criticisms of course. I'll get to it.. one day.

What is the last eroge you finished, and what do you think about it?
desi replied to Maxar's topic in Eroge General Talk
So the remake patch recently came out for Kikokugai - The Cyber Slayer and I just finished it. Plot is basically the main protag is hellbent on revenge for the brutal death of his sister. Lots of cyberpunk-like themes with martial arts involved. I haven't played the original, but it seems like the remake adds a whole lot to improve the experience... voices, improved art, and overall just improved production.. a scene or two left me in awe because of how well done some of the scenes were. I'm honestly surprised that it's only 15+, there are some very graphic images and scenes, just covered up. I compared the CGs with the original and I honestly don't think it's worth playing the original when the remake adds so much more and only just covers up clothing and a few details. The music is good and definitely fits the theme of the VN. The combat is not overly long and dragged out. One entire combat scene in particular [spoiler=Cyber Slayer minor spoiler] the Ng scene is what I was referring to when I mentioned that was in awe. It was a good combination of production and combat that made it a really good scene to read. [spoiler=Major spoilers for the VN] Man, once you find out the true character of Ruili, you kind of wonder if that was actually a truly happy ending or not. She was sort of twisted and psychotic, and for most of the VN we are made to believe that she was a goody two shoes damsel in distress type of character. I think some people might not have liked this part or change, but hey, it's a dark VN after all. I will give it a 8.4/10, definitely worth a read if you're in the mood for a VN with a dark atmosphere that isn't too long. -
^some of those examples don't really make sense in this scenario All the Supreme Candy progress you see was done by someone known as reliable and not on fuwanovel.. some people on fuwanovel want to continue his work since they think he might not continue translating. Essentially it's a separate project. The Lamune translator has translated a few works and is known to be reliable (even though no progress for a while). It is inconsistent, but whatever.. you just saw what happened with the majikoi QC being lost, if a patch releases, then so be it.. it will be completed on the list.
 -
^ he's talking about this version https://vndb.org/r29096 though the English translated version is known to have a shaky translation, but you read the original.
 -
Reading Kikokugai - The Cyber Slayer with the remake patch. Can already see why it's well worth using it.
 -
Waited for it to end then waited a big longer for whatever reason, just finished it. Definitely worth a read with themes of redemption and how to make your voice be heard was prevalent throughout. 9/10.

Mark it down, activate your hype thrusters again.. UBW second season begins April 4th.

18+ has been known for a while, but basically because there is a demand for 18+. 17+ (aka All ages) will be the ones released on steam and will still be the main focus, so the 18+ will come a bit later after the all ages versions.
 -
^ Digital versions of the 18+ Grisaia will be released, hard copies they aren't 100% sure about yet. Also, the confusion comes from the fact that hyro used Irotoridori's cover image instead of AstralAir

Make sure locale is in Japanese Changing to Japanese locale on Windows 7 | Eroge Download Install Daemon Tools Installing DAEMON Tools | Eroge Download After right clicking and extracting part 1 and having those mdf/mds files, you'll have to use daemon tools to mount the image. Tutorial for that is there Mounting CD images with DAEMON Tools | Eroge Download Basically mounting it will enable you to install the game.. if it asks you for disc 2, you'll have to unmount disc 1 and mount disc2 and continue.

What is the last eroge you finished, and what do you think about it?
desi replied to Maxar's topic in Eroge General Talk
Very short review of Umineko 5-8 [spoiler=Umineko episode8] The truth.. wasn't worth anything at all. The point of the future isn't to learn what happened in the past. What really matters.. is that I can live and prosper in the truth that is now. If I truly live and prosper, that is the truth. Back when I only ever tried to see the truth of the past, I was nothing more than a ghost trapped in that past. Since that time, I haven't lived a single day. This is... what the real truth is... - Ange One of my favorite books in high school that we were assigned to read was And Then There Were None. This work is referenced throughout Umineko and clearly was one of the inspirations of Ryukishi in developing this long and detailed VN. I had the great pleasure of reading Umineko Chiru 5-8 that I started approximately a month ago. It's been a damn long journey, but it was worth it in the end. I started Umineko 1-4 back in December 2013 and took a long break after finishing that. Had I done things differently, I wouldn't have slacked starting 5-8. In the end though, I finished the journey that was provided by Ryukishi. This is going to be weird because i'm going to be mentioning the soundtrack first. That's right.. most people might mention the soundtrack near the end, but the soundtrack is so damn good that I couldn't resist. It's probably the best soundtrack overall from a medium that I have ever heard, and I've heard of some pretty damn good stuff. Lots of great music in a lot of epic scenes. http://i.imgur.com/pWmgy.gif There truly is no way to properly summarize Umineko as a whole. Most VN's/movies/books you can have a cliffnotes version and you can figure out most of the plot that way, but I would say Umineko is very different in this regard. It's very complex and after finishing episode 8, i'm still letting everything soaking in. Every type of genre imaginable is in this VN.. action, adventure, comedy, drama, romance, [spoiler=Umineko 5-8] incest, , horror.. it's a good blend of multiple genres that manifests itself into a really great experience. The VN (1-8) is simply more than a murder mystery. It's a deep journey into love, sorrow, and many other elements that make up this 150hour? read. Umitweak is a must (voice + art) and adds a lot to the VN. Art is more of a preference, but i'm not sure who would skip the voice acting in this VN. This is the type of VN where you might even need some help to form some theories.. it's not one where you're likely going to find out the answer to everything yourself. This isn't a third-rate mystery, but something a lot more complex.. and that's perfectly fine. The author intended for it to be this way and that's really a huge part of the experience. [spoiler=Umineko 5-8 favorites major spoilers] Favorite character: Beatrice. It took me a while to piece together the Shannon/Kanon/Beatrice "theory" but I think I ended up figuring out most of it after the end of episode 6. Obviously episode 7 goes into the backstory a lot more and things become more clear. She ended up becoming one of my favorite characters overall... the VA is outstanding and the character is just great. I ended up liking her a lot in episode 3, but Chiru is definitely where she transcended into the favorites spot. Favorite scenes: Magic ending scene was great and very emotional. Battler's soul going into the golden land where he is reunited with everyone.. definitely an emotional experience. Also, "There are 17 people." ending in episode 6 was great. Favorite song: Discolor. I'll have to visit the soundtrack again and see which other ones were my favorites, but Discolor was soooo good. The ZTS songs (thanks battler) are great as well. Can't really pick a favorite there, they are all excellent. I know there were criticisms of some people regarding episode 8 and how it doesn't "answer" anything, but that wasn't the point at all. It's to wrap up Ange's plot and really the overreaching plot of 1-8. Ange needed to move on. What if Kyrie was like what was presented in ep7 tea party? It doesn't matter, you will be consumed by it (Trick ending).. it's time to move on, which is the huge point presented in episode 8 All in all, Umineko was a great experience. I would personally give it a 9.5/10 but that might go higher, not sure yet.. still letting everything soak in. It's probably my third favorite after MLA and Ever17 right now. Must read. -
The guy translating that is officially translating stuff for MG, so for now there really won't be any updates until he probably gets free from some of that stuff.

Ended up finishing this today. Was waiting forever for a patch to fix Dorian's quest, and it finally came a few days back Pros: Huge areas.. lots of exploring.. very diverse maps Great graphics.. while Frostbite might be a hindrance to those in the modding scene, it's a real pretty game. Strong main campaign quests until the end The tarot art was really amazing. Plenty of references for those that used Dragon Age Keep. I honestly wasn't expecting so many from the previous 2 games. Cons: Sometimes it was quantity over quality regarding side quests. You don't have to do them all, but too many fetch quests. Too grindy for multiple playthroughs Ending was rushed.. game seemed like it peaked a bit too early. Not ME3 levels of "we need mods to fix this now!" type of ending, but still rushed. Minor nitpick, but I prefer having cutscene-like animations when speaking with companions.. it only happens in the "important" scenes. I understand not having it for side quests since it would be more expensive to animate all that, but for companions I thought they should have did cutscene dialogue.. it feels more alive. I would definitely put it above Dragon Age 2, but not above Origins. It seemed like at times that Bioware was trying to address the criticism of Dragon Age 2 but they kind of went overboard at parts. My playthrough clocked at about 80 hours and I still had 2 large areas that I didn't explore. I'll probably kill the dragons and call it a playthrough until DLC inevitably shows up. Definitely worth a playthrough though. 8.5/10 is what I would give it.

The front page hasn't been updated in over a year, so I'll just leave it off. Doesn't take long for someone to re-add it anyway once it officially gets updates.

LOG To Heart 2 had an update a couple of weeks back, but it seems like /jp/ overlooked this. I was curious and just happened to see it. Violet Hill changed to Violeta Hill. The team has been hard at work at revamping the promising project with some of the feedback they received Dysfunctional Systems removed from kickstarter list Instead of removing Mahoyo for not having any official updates for at least a year, I just mentioned that they apparently found an editor to work on it (as herkz mentioned a couple of days ago). Yoakemae project is pretty much at a standstill right now. Erengy mentioned that there won't be updates for a while. He received Tl'ed images a few days ago.. will keep it up for now with this update. Removed Princess Maker 5 for now for not having updates in over a year I removed Hatsuyuki Sakura, sadly.. last tweet from translator was 10 months ago. I removed Haruka na Sora for now.. it's a low priority project for the group that is currently doing Yosuga no Sora and it hasn't been updated in a year Removed Sonohana projects for now (until there is progress of course).. sorry yuri fans Removed Muv-luv listings for now I won't touch official projects even though some haven't been updated in a long time... yes, Jast gets a pass Added Echo Tokyo (thanks Pasa) to kickstarter list No hyro was harmed in making this thread

First, make sure locale is in Japanese Changing to Japanese locale on Windows 7 | Eroge Download This is pretty much to ensure that windows knows how to handle Japanese characters Make sure you have Winrar or 7zip installed. After downloading all the parts, just right click and extract part 1. After extracting part 1, you'll have a folder containing the .iso image or if it's pre-patched, you don't have to worry about the .iso file. Make sure you have Daemon tools installed. Installing DAEMON Tools | Eroge Download If you need to mount the image, use this guide Mounting CD images with DAEMON Tools | Eroge Download So it all depends in how it's laid out once you extract part 1. If it's a pre-patched VN, you can just go to the folder and read the VN without mounting any images. If after extracting part 1 and it contains a disc image like a .iso file, then you would need to use Daemon tools to install the VN. Then you install it to a location (could just use the default location). If there is an English Patch in the downloads, then you can just usually drag the patch file after downloading it to the folder where the VN installed.

Looking for Eroge similar to Grisaia no Kajitsu

It's probably the closet thing he'll get. And I hear a lot of people liked the comedy of it that didn't like the first one, so who knows. -

desi replied to xehanortxblade's topic in Eroge Requests
Honestly.. probably Boob Wars 2. You'll have to deal with the lolis sometimes, but you'll get your fair share of large breasts. Little drama, comedy focused, lots of h-scenes.. sounds like it's down your alley. As Lucifier said, Majikoi is probably the best suggestion as far as something that is at least mostly translated. I would also put down Sharin no Kuni, but it gets pretty dramatic and serious at times.. though you do see similarities with it and Grisaia no Kajitsu.
