This is a small story set on a lush green planet floating in a certain dimension of the universe,
where an adventurer girl named Lili and a boy named Kain weave their tale.
The two lived happily in an orphanage together with the kind director couple and their companions.
However, when the orphanage was attacked by bandits, the director and his wife were killed, and the orphanage was forced to close.
Learning that the pair of rings cherished by the late director couple—who had been like parents to them—had been sold,
Lili and Kain decided to become adventurers to retrieve the rings.
Several years later, after many successful adventures and growing into capable adventurers,
they receive information about the whereabouts of the rings.
Promising to reunite with their fellow adventurers, Lili and the others set off on their journey filled with hope.
Yet, lurking ahead in their path is the dark malice of those who bear a grudge against them…

Ethel Briggs is a shy, self-conscious girl in her final year of university. Though she should be working on her thesis about Romantic poetry, her well of inspiration has run dry. After a nasty break-up with her former girlfriend, Clementine, Ethel is feeling very blue - and it certainly doesn't help that she's spending the winter holidays in the depressingly drab village of Oxbury, while her family are off holidaying in sunny Australia.

Left to her own devices, Ethel struggles to finish her thesis while the cold, wintry wind blows outside and the days continue to get shorter and darker.

Staying inside proves to be unbearable, however, and Ethel escapes the confines of her family's home for a breath of fresh air. Going for a walk in the woods should be enough to invigorate her, and fill her with newfound passion for Romanticism.
