I had a childhood friend who was one year older than me, and who felt just like an older sister. In the spring of my 10-something year——… I realized that the feelings I held for her were “love.” But…… I couldn’t bring myself to take any action, and could do nothing but maintain the status quo…
…A new school term. Once again, I would be attending the same school as her, and a new life began. Perhaps because it was the season of new beginnings, I felt like everything was going to head in a positive direction. However… shortly after, a bad influence of a friend fell in love with her at first sight, casting dark clouds over my school life.
And then, that summer… Spurred by a certain catalyst, the three of us—me, her, and that bad friend—ended up going on a trip to the tropical resort known as the “Heartland Islands.“
Deep down, maybe I was wishing for some kind of “change” during this opportunity. But I had no way of knowing what that change would bring upon us. ……I only knew, with strong determination in my heart, that I absolutely had to settle “these feelings” once and for all.
Surely, this summer will be the turning point…… I have a premonition. On a southern island far, far away from the town where we grew up, our stagnant time was about to start moving again——…
