
18 years ago, Cardinal Gilbert was punished by the archbishop for committing a mistake in the capital's archdiocese. He was demoted to the remote seaside town of Kynaston, where he would succeed the deceased ex-bishop and govern for 20 years.
Time passed by quickly, and Kynaston became a prosperous commercial town. The daughter he had adopted also celebrated her 18th birthday.
