The setting is modern-day Japan. Sakurako, the successor of the Tsuchimikado-style Onmyouji arts, has fought day and night against evil Yokai that harm humans alongside her childhood friend and assistant, Takimaru.
One day, word reaches them that the seal on a Yokai imprisoned in a certain village has been broken. Sakurako and Takimaru rush to the scene, but there, she falls into a despicable trap set by the Yokai and a “creepy otaku” (kimo-ota) accomplice. Takimaru is taken hostage. In exchange for his safety, they present a single condition: “Sakurako must become the creepy otaku’s girlfriend.”
Thus, Sakurako becomes his girlfriend while secretly beginning her move to rescue Takimaru… However, she remains unaware. Due to a “Curse of Successful Love” cast upon her without her knowledge, her heart is gradually being rewritten to truly love the creepy otaku from the bottom of her soul as the days go by…
