Absolute Obedience

I was horrified by the title of this, and the description didn't help any. However, I had played Enzai as my first yaoi game despite it also having a disturbing setting, and really enjoyed it (if you don't play far enough, don't expect to understand why I liked Enzai), so I had to give this a try too. Result? I loved it. The game description is actually nothing like what really happens in the game.

This may be taken as a spoiler, but it's something you probably want to know if the title and description turn you off - the main characters are actually NOT assholes. They do not abuse and hurt people throughout the game, and while there is rape it's not horrifying or scary (read: not realistic ..to my knowledge). In fact, I was delighted to find out that the main characters actually make the decisions I want them to! They do not blindly follow orders. You, the player, will not really be able to be a dick to others no matter how hard you try.

It is quite unrealistic in terms of quickly formed relationships (for one thing), but I still find them very interesting and thought-provoking (except about two missions... but their descriptions gave ample warning). The finale was something I didn't see coming, it was very sweet to me, perhaps some of the most intimate love scenes I have seen in h games, though way too short. I'm pretty sure I cried in a happy way. I tried to make some of my straight male friends play this because I don't think it's just me liking male on male that makes me enjoy the game, but so far none have accepted. I do latch on to small things that hold meaning to me, so.. like anything else, you might not get my appreciation. I want to replay this just to pull a quote by Kia from the final ending.

Make no mistake though, it is indeed loaded with sex.
