Steins;Gate: Black Screen

Can anyone help me?

 

Whenever I start STEINS;GATE the screen goes black and nothing is happening. If I click anywhere the game skip the first prologue goes to the 2nd and freezes there(I can see only the stars)and if I click again it goes the beginning of the story.

(Same thing with all video from extra menu.)

 

I am using Japanese regional settings and i update my video codecs.

(I can see them without problem if I used VLC)

What codecs did you install ? I recommend CCCP - Combined Community Codec Pack.

Also, vlc has nothing to do with any other codecs/codec packs you have installed, vlc is self contained i.e. you can have only vlc installed and you'll be able to view videos just fine without installing any other codec packs.

 

Do note that having only vlc installed means that you actually have no codecs that the games requires.

I already have it ( I have k-lite codec pack and MPC-HC too)

But for some reason it refuse to work >..

 

The only video that work normally inside the game >>> are the one that don't have any sound ( e.g.: title/rain).

Try uninstalling k-lite and install cccp, see if that changes anything.

 

Edit: Also make sure that you remove all the codecs you have before installing cccp, otherwise they may conflict.

Uninstalling everything > install cccp and I still can't play it...T_T

 

By the way, is there anyway to convert ngs to avi, mp4...etc?

(I found out that I can play mp4 or avi video type inside the game.)

 

 

Finaly fixed it...

I used roundabout way

Since I can open other video the inside the game (thanks to k-lite codec?)

I use fraps(since I don't know any program that convert from ngs to avi)

than Veedub to lower it's size > move to dx folder and change it name to prologue01.ngs... though it will be pain to do that to all story video(not effect one like rain)

But it;s better than staring at black screen^^.
