Is this also in the original Japanese? Is it a shameless plug by NekoNyan, the translator/publisher of the English version? Or is it the sole reason why NekoNyan translated and published this title in the first place?

Late to response here. For the answer, actually it's more like shameless plug for Alcot, because their previous VN Tokyo Hero Project has mascot character called Nekonyan, and our Anzu who has same VA as Nekonyan obviously make that reference to her previous role.
