Sakura no Mori † Dreamers finally, we have waited long enough for this one. I hope for a really good read. Kind of sad to see the stream and there was basically no reaction at all when this was announced...This community... -

Yu-No is one of the best vns out there, you should have played it already. There is no reason not to. -

So minori is out of the game, I have mixed feelings about this. I despise most of the MC they created, but yeah, there are worse studios than them. But I have to say, they sound a little bit salty... -

If I remember correctly, the translator did not like the game, so he jumped right to the second game. -

That's a surprise! NekoNyan contacts to the japanese developer have to be quite good, to pull something like this off. (Or SP really angered them) I don't think SP will release Dracu-Riot or Tenshin Ranman anymore. The titles went into the icebox for quite some time and I don't think, that a developer will reclaim a title if there is any chance in hell, that the business relationship could be salvaged. The question is, if they will hodl the licenses or sell it back. And yes, I do hear some guys of the community laugh at the translator of Dracu-Riot. I hope, that NekoNyan got an eye on their bankroll, they only got the high price titles in their portfolio, I hope they don't overdo it. -

If you want to read a comment of a director trash talking his own authors, read the second part of the "If you love me, then say so" directors comment. I think it is a pretty harsh critique. -

With the new Steam politics, it seems like some sort of gold rush going on. I really hope that NekoNyan and Sol didn't buy too many licenses. I would feel bad for them. Nukige Mitai na Shima ni Sunderu Watashi wa Dou Surya Ii Desu ka? Is either a complete hit or a complete miss, I think there is no middle ground. I do like the idea, so let's hope for the best. Onii-chan, Kiss no Junbi wa Mada Desu ka? You can never go wrong with four Lolis. Seem's good to me Mirai Radio to Jinkou-bato and Irotoridori no Sekai Nice to see some good story titles in here. -

I feel you bro, that's why I said Musumaker category (TL got picked up, then died, got picked up again and now we're in the danger zone with no more regular updates. And it is evil evil Loli so no good translator wants to work official on this game) -

The tragic of Overdrive is, that they were ahead of their time. They approached the western audience way bevor there were any vns on Steam. They deserved to get a big piece of that cake. Sadly they took a huge risk with the utsuge Bokuten that did not pay off. I still would like to know, why a producer known for their slice of life school settings goes all-in on a utsuge, I just don't get it. (Even so, there were some pretty dark moments on Edelweiss and KiraKira) Nice to see that GSS got a translation ongoing, but 2015 first partial patch and know were at 20%? Another game I can count in the Musumaker category... -

So many good publishers, Moenovel, SakuraGame and Sekai Project. Golden VN age right here. I am really bitter about Fortissimo, this would be the vn of this year if MG or NN got this one, hell even Sekai would be fine. Please NekoNyan: Aokana +one mystery/suspense title, make it happen! -

It is a bad year when I'm happy about this mediocre announcements. Ano Harewataru Sora yori Takaku seems very generic: Save the club setting and I'm not keen of the rocket theme. Escalayer will be a nukige, you know what you get. So no strong story titles this year from MG... -

To be honest, I feel like JAST is just the hobby of an excentric Millionaire. Projects take forever and there is no regular activity you'll find in other companies like MG with monthly products. I really don't get them. -

The latest masterpiece is without a doubt Doki Doki Literature Club. Which is genius on so many different levels. A no-name studio with mixed feeling about the whole genre and the whole experience you get for free. With three characters who can easily carry the majority of all vns. And then there is Monika, who is a pure stroke of genius and in my opinion is one of the strongest characters ever created. Remember: From a noname creator. On the other hand what tells a producer you, if they use nudity as a cover? They tell you, that they are not capable of doing a cookie cutter standard tsundere/deredere whatever to reel you in. You can create pure gold with a minimum of resources or you don't even try anymore and shove the player some boobs in their face as an excuse. You still can have an absurd amount of H-Content with the weirdest of fetishes like Starless, euphoria, Maggot Baits etc. My point is, you can be classy about your H-Content, there is no need for nudity on the front cover. That's why I don't like this approach, it reeks of desperation. I have my troubles with long VNs as well, there are very few companies who can pull of a long or very long VN. For example, I could not finish Grisaia. I tried it several times but it just didn't work and this is a highly acclaimed work. I always hope for the next Fate/Stay Nigth, but it is difficult. -

Every VN with a nude cover is bad news. On the other hand, Fureraba seems like a good representative of his genre. Clean execution no silly gimmicks just for the sake of the gimmicks. (Yeah I look at you Magical Marriage Lunatics!!) Really bumped about Lovely x Cation 2, back to the long-term waiting game I guess. -

Rough start for Mangagamer this year. Koropokkur Kickstarter is a disaster at the moment and it seems as if they will barely reach their minimum goal. They really need to get together and ask themselves, why they wanted an all age title. They seemed so genuinely surprised that fans wanted H-Content, that for me this is hard to believe. I would have supported this one if it was an adult title. But not an All-Age Vn with an unknown writer. The second question I have: Why did they not use the Overdrive brand? They got bamboo as their front figure why not promote this as a cooperation between this two and get some brand recognition. For the announcements: - Yuri DLC = Meh - Otome Game = Meh - Nukige maybe a moege about star gazing, androids and rabbit girls yeah, what can I say. Indeed a rough start for MG this year. -
Easy vote for Tanuki-Soft, Oyako Rankan and Sakura no Mori † Dreamers

I thought it would be some Ammolite title, but what is with this weird NTR and absurd oppai game? Really disappointing for me, because there are some Ammolite titles I would be interested in. This is a bad MG year for me, with only three titles (excluding fandiscs and nukige) that I think are worthy your time. Top pick: The Most Forbidden Love in the World! Not your standard school setting and a very good author. Second: Trinoline: minori knows how to deliver a very good story, probably I will hate the protagonist like in every other minori game, but overall the concept sounds great. Third: Magical Marriage Lunatics!! If this is like Princess Evangile, then you get an absolute standard school comedy setting. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. In the next year I hope for some non-rance titles from Alicesoft and please some darker titles from Moonstone. There should be at least one Mystery/Horror title with H-content per year... With this, back to Umineko.

They don't need to battle piracy. They wanted 45K for the whole thing, they got 85K if I remember correctly. The 45K cover the base costs and everything above this is a profit for them. As I said before, in our community it's easier to find one guy paying 1000 US Dollar as 1000 guys paying 1 Dollar. That's why they use Kickstarter. The next big thing for them is the sale on Steam, there the guys don't pirate as much, and they get another chunk of money for sometimes questionable quality. After Steam they stop to care. Why bother to create an 18+ Version for some nerds that complain over social media? They know very well, that these people will not buy the product and probably 95% + will pirate the product, so it is just not worth to put any effort in the H-Content. Exception: The guy plowing big money at the Kickstarter phase in the game, that asks for this content. But yeah, the deal is done so they can take their sweet time. That’s why I think they don’t care, they got their money way bevor the pirates can do any damage for their business model.

It was dead, there was over a year no progress at all, the translator backed out etc. So pretty much your typical loli translation. I hope they have better luck this time.
