Hi! just checked Warning! Adult Content! and it looks like they added "Doushin - Same Heart" as a port-able game to OSX...so, right now, on the site, there are 3 games ported, and looks like a 4th one coming up (Amorous Professor Cherry), even though the info isn't up on the main page, but a screenshot of the game is in the photo gallery section of the site... So, if you are planning to get some VN, at least those "work"...or if you already have them, then you know there are good chances the VNs would work in your environment... I'm not a Wine/Wineskin expert, it's a hit or miss kinda deal..

I have a white, unibody MacBook circa 2010 (the last one that came out, b4 Apple axing the white MacBook line...bought it from ebay)...I've upgraded it to 8gb & 500gb HD...at least it's supported under Mountain Lion 10.8...hopefully it can still run OSX 10.9 or 10.10...whatever it's called by then... The regular VNs don't take much resources, but when the stuffs becomes 3D, then OSX might experience some slow down...I believe Wine (or Wineskin) uses only 1 core from a dual core cpu...don't think VNs' format is going to change too drastically soon, so the regular 2D graphics will still be

Agreed, Katawa Shoujo looks awesome & professional from an independent group using Ren'Py! Right now, I'm looking forward to port other eroge games...since Wineskin was updated last week, will try again to see if Suika A.S+ (水夏A.S+) still works with the new wrapper...love the opening theme (Fragment), and would be cool to see the intro moov & song on the newer Wineskin...though youtube has it too! Chances are that it'll work...! After that, I might want to re-port some of my old fave games that I did b4 I started using Wineskin, using wrappers I downloaded from portingteam.com, which

Hi Dan...! I don't use VM or bootcamp to run eroge (though VM or Bootcamp would provide the most compatible experience), since VM or Bootcamp requires a full license on Windows, for VM, extra resources like memory, drive space...and for bootcamp, it basically turns your mac into a pc, so there's nothing mac-like about your mac which in bootcamp. Thanks for the vndb list...! Mainly "indie" eroge games...some look quite professional though...! Ah! there's also the Ren'Py engine, which people are also creating many eroge games too! Lain, now I remember something about kanon...sometime way back, I remember seeing (my memory is flaky, so don't know where I found it), an already english-patched, and ps2-voice-patched version that ran ootb on Wineskin...but I was always more into the official English releases from major publishers, so didn't pay much attention to it & ditched it...don't remember doing anything xtra to get the eroge games I've mentioned to work on OSX (via Wineskin, of course)...so, you might wanna try some of them?

Hi! eroge on the Mac OSX is such a niche segment of the game population...I've used Wineskin as well to "port" some eroge games to OSX, with different degrees of success...since I'm no expert @porting... Haven't tried the classic Kanon, but just tried with "school days hq", and it seems to work ok...there's now an official patch on jastusa.com...haven't patched mine, but since I haven't gone thru the whole game, I can only say that it seems to work ok in windowed mode...don't like playing visual novels in full screen...some other games on top of my head that seem to work in Wineskin are: Deng

Hi! why not try running pc eroges using Wine? I know Wine won't run ALL the eroges out there, but it can run quite a few...! Besides, you get the satisfaction ( or frustration otherwise) of getting the game running...! No need to install full Windows OS on a VM or resource to the bootcamp way...found a site dedicated to running pc eroge on Mac OSX, it's called Mac Eroge : Warning! Adult Content! At this point site, looks quite empty, with only 1 tested game (Go! Go! Nippon!)...but hopefully the list will grow over time...
