...ooh. I've finally encountered some characters. I guess there were no sprites for the detective/assailant at the beginning of the game? Well, this is awkward....

Hello, Hope I've put this in the right place... Or maybe I've necro'd a thread... Anyway, I've reg'd as I've hit an obstacle. The game's refuses to show character sprites (?) and omits some backgrounds. I hope the image is self-explanatory. Anyone know of fix? Perhaps you've encountered something similar another game... Any help appreciated.
