I'm pretty sure that only a tiny part of the whole eroge community (mainly me) cares about Mashiro while the other part (everybody except me) don't give a shit about her but whatever...

Dammit, there are so much characters I can't even think of to who I want to write down or not.

If this list didn't have an 5 favorites limit, I'd probably be typing for a week or so. Especially for females... you get per harem-anime up to 7 of those.

So I'm gonna use this opportunity to make some memorable mentions of a few characters who didnt make it into my fav ranking:

Kinoshita Hideyoshi - Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu (I just didn't know where to put him/her)

Yuuki Asuna - SAO (of corse, I like her. But I like Shino more)

I also remember the protagonist (forgot his name) from ore no seishun no love come wa machigatteiru, who barely didn't make it into the males-ranking (If I hadn't forgotten his name, I probably would have put him on 5th place... but he just doesn't stick out, right^^)

And on a last side-note, if Mushoku Tensei ever gets an anime adaption, Rudeus Greyrat will take 1st place of the male ranking.

She actually is, but that doesn't strike me as an especially annoying trait.

Still like usual the childhood friend will probably end up being the most annoying character for me.

Don't say that. Being a childhood friend doesn't mean one is an annoying character.

For example take... uhh... err... right, Asuho from Hoshimemo was a nice childhood friend. Took me a lot of time to come up with one who's a stereotype and still a nice childhood friend, so I have to say I'm quite proud of myself.

She's one of those few characters whose name just has to come up somewhere in your argument and boooom: the whole eroge community will acknowledge your opinion as the right one.

To me Kitsune look like the one that will be annoying.

If I remember correctly, she's more of an airhead/stupid brat than an annoying brat.

...btw it seems we got a little racism against foxes going on here. They don't always play tricks on people, or at least not in visual novels. Guess you guys need a massive beating by Mashiro's hammer of justice!

The presence of vampire content usually shouldn't hinder the translation progress of the project. Those are just unlucky coincidences.

Besides, MML doesn't focus that much on vamp-content as fortune arterial and dracu riot (unless you go for the vamp heroine probably)...

Yup. If they keep up the good work, they should be done around 2020, considering that they are already working on it for ~9 months.

However, HatsuSaku is probably closer to a duke nukem, since it's gotten retranslatet from scratch after the first project died.

(On a side-note, all those duke nukem jokes aren't as funny anymore since the game got released... makes me sad)

For nostalgic reasons I was roaming around alice-soft titles on vndb. There seems to have been something going on with Daiteikoku, though I don't know if we can expect much progress in the future. However, the project seems to have been revived long ago.

Though we must not forget all the great projects out there, that weren't able to be honored with an update this week.

Objection! There really were better times in the golden past of vn-translations! I remember Ryuu posting a link to an older status update post, around christmas 2012... there were around twice a many updates as we got now,

If suddenly 2 or 3 projects are completed by mid 2014, you'll all say "ou mai gadz, ze dark aigez haz com to an endz!"

and three completed projects in one week (and I guess the list was shorter, but I haven't counted that). And now people say it's an accomplishment to have 3 competed projects in what? a quarter??

Though I am interested in the reasons for this development, I think (and hope) that, if more of the big active translators vanish, someone else will fill the gap and take their place. This community has grown far too big to stay in a slump for more than 2 years (I hope).

In case this is a serious post: This is getting a little bit overboard. If you really think reading an eroge/vn is a waste of time, then get lost. Use your freetime for activities, that you actually enjoy doing. Vn's don't have any sort of upper age limit restrictions, and even if they had, we wouldn't care at all. If it's his hobby, then there is nothing wrong with him continuing it until he's unable to read (which will hopefully be far off in the future).

It's been a heck of a long time since I registered in this Forum.

Originally I discovered a mistake in one of the status threads back then, and by the time I was done with the registration, it had already been corrected (yeah, I know, talk about bad timing).

And since I like observing more than being observed, I have been living more or less the life of a shadow lurking in a corner of this forum.
