  1. I am an American and I write dates like that too... but it is obviously wrong. It can only be because we used to use month/day and then decided to add year at the end. It has always bothered me that the US uses this format after I found out the rest of the world used dd/mm/yy because dd/mm/yy makes so much more sense. Lets not even get into Standard v.s. SI units.
