he/she should also try to update Directx and graphics card drivers, I've read some rumours about integrated intel chipsets not working with this game though. (sorry again if this has been suggested already)

If the fresh install doesn't work (be sure to delete all of the leftover files in the game folder and documents), then either the game files you have are corrupt or game patch 1.1 (game fix, not translation) is corrupt. There's nothing else reported that can cause this error.

This sometimes happens when your timezone format and location don't match your locale language *cough* hoshimemo-eternal heart *cough*

Under control panel in language settings try selecting "Japan" as your location and under timezones pick "japanese" format

If this doesn't work, then try to redownload the game again (if you downloaded vía torrent or in parts, one of them might have been corrupted, retrying it would solve this issue)

Skimmed thru the whole thread but.. anyone know how readable are VN's with ITH and TA method?

for example: Yoda readable: 60+ %

1 year old baby speaking readable: 50+%

Drunkmonkeyattemptingtospeak readable: 40-%

mad howling readable: 30-%

flyable heart readable 15-%

If I knew how to extract CG from a VN and then reintegrate it back I would de-censor many many of the censored fantranslated games (since I'm a photoshop nut myself)

FYI: both VN's run perfectly on windows 8 (just in case you're an early adopter, like me)

-Secondly:Make sure to change your locale language to japanese manually under control panel/language settings

-Forget about the Virtual machine for now and try these settings on your main OS:

-Update your DirectX (Just do it. Even if you think you don't need to)

-Update your graphics card drivers (Again, DO IT.)

-run both games as admin and under compatibility mode for Windows Vista (in case you've got win7 or 8)

-if you've installed cccp and k-lite pack, your video codecs are up to date (so don't worry about those)

do all that and then check if it works, hope it helps

Nope, no new routes. If you played with the crappy translation, then maybe it's not worth playing. Guess it's your decision. Lots of people skipped on out on the machine translation (including me), so this project announcement at least gives me a bit of hope.
