Haven't been that far into the game myself but I currently have no issues (save for the TIPS crash)

Patch is not stable, same trouble as other nitroplus titles such as CHAOS;HEAD (Where people claimed there was a persistent crash near the end of the game)

I never encountered such problem and finished C;H with all endings and 100% CG

I can only guess: are you by any chance using applocale? if so, DON'T. I mean it (change your locale language manually under control panel/language settings)

Try running the game as Admin under compatibility mode Windows Vista.

If all that fails, do a clean reinstall/repatch and see if the problem persists.

btw, my top 5 favourite VN's have no adult content at all, so that makes two of us

or hugeass mosaics. I mean, mosaics are fine but I hate 500x500 or larger mosaic censorship

Hello good sirs.

As of today, there are two ways of running VN's such as My GF is the president and few others which do NOT work on windows 8

(At least, not by default).

1st- the somewhat easy way (this method worked for me)

-download kernel32 mod dll, here's a link: kernel32.dll free download - DLL-files.com

-put the dll into your system's dll folder

-next, you need an install able version of my GF is the president (a DRM free version will not work)

-Install as normal but make sure to select "program files" as the installation directory (NOT program files x86)

-after installing, right click the game's exe and click on the compatibility tab

-run the VN under compatibility mode for winXP or later

-run as admin

-if you're running ati tray tools, kill process

-try running the exe

(if it doesn't work, there's another way, though not as simple)

2nd - the hard way

-download windows XP Iso file (pirate bay hosts a great selection for those)

-download Oracle virtual box (a virtual machine app)

-install virtual box

-create a virtual machine (it's pretty much self explanatory)

-make sure to inject at least 700mb of ram to your VM and at least 16mb of video memory (giving more than half your RAM and the app won't start)

-now remember the winXP iso you've just downloaded? well mount it with Daemon tools or similar

-load the virtual box

-the app will load and windows xp will begin installing INTO the virtual box

-after installation's finished get your DRM or Installation version of My GF is the president or whatever eroge you've had trouble with

and put them inside a USB flash drive, an HDD or something similar

-click on the devices tab on the virtual box top menu (while running winXP)

-select your USB drive and click on "capture" (your virtual machine will recognize the new drive as if you connected it to the virtual machine

-drag and drop your files to the Virtual machine desktop and proceed to install/execute as normal

-run the exe. It should work now

(this method is failproof, though it may be a hassle for many..)

It's not really JAST's fault to begin with. Even if they wanted to make it playable on Win8 (which is doubtful), they couldn't because Win8 was still in development. The game was released (untranslated) in 2009, you can't be certain that it will work in some OS that gets released 4-5 years later.

In fact it seems that the interpreter engine that runs Presi is 32 bit oriented. Something about the full 64bit and not "hybrid" 64bit back in win7 made it incompatible with win8

I'm not sure if other eroges are affected by this but so far i've found none other.

Yesterday I've switched from win7 to windows 8

Of course the first thing i did was test run my 30+ eroge collection

ALL of them worked just fine, no issues

ALL of them but ONE: My girlfriend is the president (JAST version)

whenever I attempt to run the exe i'm greeted with this error message: "Authentication failed, unrecognized kernel32 module/NM"

Man, just another reason for Jast to suck, win8 can run even Chaos;head, but not this one?

anyways, just a word of warning for fellow win8 users.

Hohoho, this is gonna hurt. I've never mentioned this before but, for me it's... Hoshizora no Memoria. That's right. DON'T KILL ME. The true route of this VN, Mystery Girl. I was looking forward to it alot, because this character seemed to be the best out of everyone. The VN as a whole was going real good, so it's not like it was a chore to get to that true route.

You've got a point there. Despite hoshimemo being one of my favs, I did feel like the "true route" was missing something.

I didn't care about it much though, since Asuho's and Komomo's routes are pure win.

I already wrote an answer but deleted it because I realized that I pretty much named all the visual novels which I dislike...
