If you don't need porn with your plot, you may like True Remembrance or Symphonic Rain; but be aware that Symphonic Rain is probably a good deal darker than Hoshimemo.

If you don't mind "darker and edgier" you may also want to try Yume Miru Kusuri, which, in my opinion, is the best out of these suggestions, but then again, is pretty melodramatic at times, and may not be your cup of tea.

1. Cross Channel; I love the writing, even in Ixrec's translation,

2. Sekien no Inganock; the atmosphere was probably my favorite of any VN, and Liarsoft in general seems to do a good job of that,

3. Kara no Shoujo; My reason is Touko,

4. Saya no Uta; Nothing that Star hasn't already said,

5. Little Busters!; No one does nakiges like Key, and LB! was my favorite.

That being said, I'm still finishing Higurashi and Ever17, so those will probably be added to the list shortly. I still feel like I need to include one more, though...

Companies come and companies go...well, it's not like there were that many VN localizing companies in the first place (Aside from the ones still in business, Hirameki's the only other one that comes to my mind). It'll be interesting to see how long they last.

MG and Jast both had problems with the translation quality when they first started; if MoeNovel survives, I'm sure they'll improve with time.

And Japanese companies probably don't feel comfortable operating outside of the culture they know. Never know when another Rapelay incident will occur, after all.

That is the most ridiculous pacing I've ever come across. I finished in two hours, and I was still impressed by how well they managed to make the story flow. 8/10

MG... Even though it probably was the first and last time they toke on something non-nukige, they DID translate KNS and higurashi (with grammar errors or not )

In general, I like JAST's lineup more, but those two probably leave me in favor of MG.

YMK's probably the most enjoyable for the widest audience here, but Narcissu has it's strengths, especially considering it's free.

I'm going to assume that was also the reason someone voted for Princess Waltz.

Finally got around to Sharin no Kuni. It's true, the ending isn't quite as good as G-Senjou, but it's still probably one of my favorite VNs at this point. The twists at the end were especially interesting. 9/10

And since we're on the subject, Moon/Terra>Akane>Lucia>Kotori/Chihaya>Shizuru.
