I've got a little question.

I've got problems with installing majikoi.

I get strange combinations of letters and numbers instead of words and when I tried to do the Japanese local thingy, I couldn't find it.

is the problem that my computer still runs on XP?

The problem is in fact, in your Windows locale.

Check this page - Installing Japanese support for Windows XP | Eroge Download

Hey so i downloaded the torrent and got the files extracted them then when i mount them and try to install it gets to where its installing system.pac or whatever and halfway thourgh that it gets unmounted by it self and it cant install can someone help me?

You should have 2 images that you should need to mount. After you mount the first image, you should be able to install it. It'll stop halfway and this is where you unmount disc 1 and mount disc 2 to continue the installation. Have you tried mounting disc 2 after the halfway point or does it just completely stop installing?

Alternatively, if you have Daemon Tools lite go ahead and setup 2 Virtual DT drives. Mount Disc 1 to the first DT drive. Mount Disc 2 to the second DT drive. The install process will continue without the whole unmount and mount for disc 2.

It's odd that you would receive that error if you changed your locale to Japan. Are you sure you did that? Here is a picture of a changed locale:

Also, if you did change it like that picture, did you reset your pc? That is needed for the effects to change. Other then that I can't help you because I only got those type of errors (where they have that text in the box) if the locale wasn't changed right.

Config.rar

I think this is what you want, not 100% sure, but removing it from my save data, disables the extra stuff, and replacing it re-enables everything. Just extract it and place it where ever your saves happen to be. Mine were found in "C:\Users\Usernameremoved\Documents\みなとそふと\マジこい!\Save" , so it's probably also in a similar folder for you, just hunt through your My Documents for the correct folder. Failing that, it might simply be somwhere in your install directory.

This may be a noobish question, but

I don't necessarily get the character screens. For example; you have the option of clicking a chibi Momoyo, the dorm, chibi Chris, etc. Does these options determine which girl your gonna be with?

Yes.

There's actualy some bubble things under each character, each time you pick them, the number of bubbles will decrease by 1, getting them down to zero for a certain character triggers their route.

actually..i wont consider that as spoilers since its mentioned by tutorials...

btw..wat out on the characters that you choose.....

its advisable to pick the heroine one by one

because the character will trigger their special skills.....

which cause various effects to the character screen...

again..this is explained in the tutorial~~

Maybe this question is rather dumb but wellhere it is: just to be sure, wich routes are translated? Is the part beforee entering the route fully translated? What does this game has aside from the normal read&answer feature of common vn/eroge?

Translates: Prologue, Chris route, Momoyo (+afterstory), Yukie route (+afterstory), Wanko route (+afterstory), teacher side route, tutorials, end-game skits, staff room, going home option in the character select screen, images, most of the system messages

miyako route is still 45% atm

here's the review from takajun (majikoi's translator)

majikoi

Genre:

Action, comedy, drama, slice of life

Plot summary:

We spent the days among a casual group of friends, not knowing how precious these days were.

The second-year student of the Kawakami Academy, Naoe Yamato, had valuable friends.

Four boys and three girls. They’ve grown up together, doing silly things since they were small.

Many things happened, but they’re all still friends. It’s a comfortable atmosphere.

Two new members join the group, and their world gets even more rowdy.

All the girls in the group know martial arts and have samurai blood.

Don’t lose against the gallant girls, boys.

April, 2009. The story begins to move…

*Play time: About 30-40 hours?

Characters:

(from left to right in the pic above)

Yukie (Mayucchi): Reserved, kind girl. She wants to make friends really bad.

Miyako: Quiet, cool type. Only cares about the group members. Loves Yamato.

Momoyo: Honest and strong. Older sister type. Teases everyone.

Kazuko (Wanko): Energetic girl who always trains. Doggy type.

Chris: Serious, stubborn girl. A big tsundere.

Story: 9/10

The game is about a group of friends and their school life, with more in-depth story in each of the girl’s route. However, this isn’t an ordinary group of people since the girls are all fighters. The school isn’t ordinary either since battles and fights are permitted, so there’s a lot of action scenes in this game.

The story of this game is awesome. The game will give you laughs, tears, and everything else. It has a very good tempo, and the atmosphere within the game is great. The characters come alive, and every one of them is well-made. All the routes are good with hot battles in each one of them. The best thing in this game is the comedy, and the abundant parodies make the comedy top-notch. The game is really, really long, but the atmosphere is so good that you still want more even after you’re done playing the game.

The only complaint about the story is nothing to write home about and no part of it blows you away. And the battle scenes could have been better.

Graphics: 8/10

The graphics are really good. There are more than enough CGs with 90 CGs in the game without counting minor differences within CGs. The standing sprites are well done, with lots of variations for the main characters. Together with the effects, it really brings out the best in this game. I think the art matches the story, and the CGs are placed effectively as well.

Music: 7/10

There are a lot of BGMs in this game (around 50). All the songs were quite good, and none of them got too quiet or loud during the game. There are quite a few really good and memorable songs in there. The only downside is that the vocal songs aren’t that good.

System: 10/10

The perfect Giga system is in place. There’s nothing more you can ask for.

From the title screen, you have tutorial, CG mode, music mode, Hscene recollection, after story, and event selection mode. In-game, you can pretty much change everything. Some things you can change are window mode, text speed, text colors, joypad and key config, volumes, voice on/off for each character, not to stop voice with mouse click, and effect speed.

One complaint I have is that the event mode doesn’t cover all the events. Although, this can be solved by saving during the actual game…

Ero: 7/10

The Hscenes are surprisingly(?) good. Each heroine gets at least 3 scenes, the sub-heroines get 1 scene, and there are a few threesome scenes for a total of 20 scenes in the game. Most of the scenes consist of more than one round and Yamato’s (the protag) ability to ejaculate many, many times is amazing. The scenes are pretty long with good text. The CGs and the voice acting are great as well. Most of the scenes are pretty normal, so don’t expect toys or weird stuff.

Voice: 10/10

This game has an amazing cast of voice actors. I will list what other game/anime each voice actor has been in, and that should be enough to explain how awesome the cast is:

Heroines:

Momoyo: Sakaki (Azumanga), Rider (F/SN), Tsugumi (Ever17)

Kazuko (Wanko): Nagamine (Seinarukana), Seira (Chaos Head)

Miyako: Oumi (Saya no Uta), Shirayuki (Sispuri), Putina (Osadai)

Yukie: Riannon (Tears to Tiara), Ririko (Sharin), Mikuru (Haruhi)

Chris: Tama-Nee (To Heart2), Hinagiku (Hayate), Akiha (Tsukihime)

Male characters:

Capt (leader): Kamina (Gurren Lagenn), Ishida (Bamboo Blade), Ein (Katahane)

Moro (gloomy guy): Hidemi (Host Club), Shin (Gundam Seed Destiny)

Cookie (robot): Shinji (Eva), Maou (G-Sen), Lulouche (Code Geass)

Tadakatsu (Tsundere): Archer (F/SN), Greed (FMA)

Prime Minister: Houzuki (Sharin), Hiroshi (Kazokei), Cell (DBZ)

Female sub-characters:

Chika (classmate): Sachi (Sharin), Mayu (ONE)

Umeko (teacher): Tsunade (Naruto), Sailor Neptune, Reccoa (Z gundam)

Koyuki (weird girl): Taeko (Swan Song), Aoba (Kazokei), Tama (Muv-Luv)

Margit (army girl): Haru (G-Senjou), Chie-Nee (Kira Kira) Kia (Inganock)

Kokoro: Akane (Muv-Luv), Len (Melty Blood), Miyako (Hidamari Sketch)

There’s more, but I’ll stop here. If the cast from this game doesn’t get a 10/10, I don’t know what game does.

Overall: 9.5/10

This is a great game where everything about it is above average. The comedy is great and the atmosphere is top-notch. The cast of voice actors is amazing, and the parodies created from the cast is funny as well (if you can understand at least some of it).

Recommended for: People who like comedy, people who like school life eroge, people who want ero, and eroge beginners.

Not recommended for: People who don’t want parodies in comedy, people who don’t watch anime or play games, and people who want a deep story.

hope it would help you....

    • In a future over one hundred years hence...

All the people in the world have awakened to unique abilities called 'Dunamis'. As these special powers become rooted in people's everyday lives, their value system changes, and those who lack powers are the ones who are treated as strange. With the passing of the ages, the environment has changed completely, while society has greatly regressed. The overall population of mankind has diminished as well, and most of the world is made up of wastelands and greenery dotted with the weathered ruins of the world before.

      The City of Raillore.

With brickwork buildings like those of the Middle Ages, developed over land graced with lush greenery and rivers. With the concept of nations gone from the world, Raillore exists as something of a self-sufficient commune. The Order of Security and Regulatory Knights - AKA the Regulatory Corps - serves as a government organization in charge of handling crime prevention and other tasks that require force of arms.

But things begin to change as odd incidents take place, one after another...

Those possessing abilities different from those of Dunamis begin to appear. The people fear this power and the phenomena it causes, and those capable of it are designated as ‘Errors’. The sudden appearance of these Errors is regarded as a disease, and the handling of Errors is placed under the jurisdiction of the Regulatory Corps. As people tremble in fear of the vicissitudes of the changing times, there are those who try to open a way to the future with their own strength...

    • Janieve High is your average all-girl high school. The only thing that makes it stand out is that it is the first school in the country to try out the bridge year initiative. Claudia Flaurance, great-granddaughter of the school’s founder, takes this opportunity to be part of the first wave of students for this optional seventh year of high school. Now that she finds herself alone and without friends in a class full of girls who have known each other for years, her new life at her ancestral school can begin.

Two other girls, Gabriella and Michelle, won’t let Claudia be friendless for long though. Together they try to find a school club to join to solidify their friendship.

But wouldn’t starting your very own club be the better option? And with that Claudia is not only the new girl, but also the president of the brand new book club.

This new book club has something to hide though. Girl-girl romance books are the only books on the menu! Now renamed to the yuri club, this club might just be what Claudia needs to get to the bottom of Gabriella’s and Michelle’s past. And if they can secretly help other girls at the school confess their love to each other, that’s even better! That is what the yuri club is all about.

Can Claudia find her place at Janieve High? Can the school help her understand the mysterious mood sensing power she’s been struggling with since childhood? And most important… Can love conquer all? Or will Janieve High’s anti-relationship rule be the end of the yuri club?
