Trying to find the name, and obviously will request when I get it.

[REQ] Star Platinum

The current request thread for it links to an old hshare link that doesn't work. I've looked a few other places and have only found bad links or dead torrents. I'll continue to look, but I'll leave this request up

OLD:

Hi, I've been looking all over for a game I played back in around 1998 or so.

It was a visual novel, but featured 'battles' that were like playing mahjong (not the match 2 then remove kind). It also didn't have (to the best of my recollection) standard mahjong tiles.

IIRC the title screen was silver? And I wanted to say it has something to do with the zodiac, but that may be because I saw the title in the game list here. Oh, and it was NOT translated back then. I don't even remember where I got it.

Thanks for the help, and I know this little bit of info makes it a pain in the ass. I'd give more, but it's been so long.

Added actual game name to first line, still trying to figure out how to edit the thread title

Hmm, not that I can tell. More detail is that I THINK it was female vs female for the 'combat' round.

The mahjong tiles had completely different symbols.

It was set in modern day, but the battles were between girls with special powers? Like I said, I think it has something to do with the zodiac.

When I say zodiac, I am referring to the constellations, not necessarily the astrological signs.

Thank you for the reply.

Yup. I checked them. One didn't have any, but pretty sure it didn't apply either. You're right, it may be up to about 2000. It may not necessarily be listed as a 'mahjong' game specifically either. When I played it was only during battle sequences, and while it used tiles (maybe cards?) I just remember that there was more to it than just matching sets, some of the wins the opponent had were confusing to me at the time as it wasn't sets or sequential. At this point, my memory might be making stuff up to fill in blanks if I try to give more, but I can try: I want to say the backs of the tiles/cards were silverish in color and had a pentagram on it, but this is probably wrong.
