Visual Novels Translation Status [13/05/2018]

I approve of these choices, good job mangagamer.

Also what happening in steam I believe might be tied an issue with Washington State’s laws on pornography distribution. As a result, Steam may be enforcing this shift out of fear of legal action though it seems that games relegating their 18+ content to optional patches download outside of Steam are still in the clear.

Also this makes me a little mad Twitter

It astonishes me that, even with tons of evidence to the contrary, video games are still being used to argue violence.

Not to mention, the NSCOE using something like #MeToo to justify their right-wing bullshit is the very definition is of shameless.

Here is my 2 cents about this matter

How many of you guys actually bought VNs on Steam? I can't see why people are acting like if this is the Apocalypse of VN/Eroges , Mangagamer and Jast will continue doing just fine without Steam.

Maybe now we're not gonna have to wait months for publishers release +18 patch/version of VNs , in some cases they don't even release the Original Adult version at all (A Sky Full of Stars)

Steam was the main excuse to All-ages only releases , that might for the best. Also , this can ruin Sekai Project business model , isn't that great?! :)

Eh, i usually buy VNs on Steam, cause regional pricing. No way i can handle US prices.

Not seeing your point here. Do you mean the fact that no adult version coming will cripple demand for all-ages versions? I think, it would give them less incentive to release adult versions and more reasons to censor stuff. Not sure how that would affect SP's Kickstarter-mania, either.

I wonder is those DLSite games got notified by Valve as well, those seem to be greater offenders.

That said, we still do not understand what is fine and what is not, sasuga Valve.

That said, HuniePop technically had adult content on Steam from beginning, it's accessible via flag-file (think GTA:SA Hot Coffee, but easier to restore), so did few other games, which i always found strange.

What I mean is basically this:

If Eroges get banned from Steam all releases would be on MG, JAST and similar stores , where there is no content cutting.

Less incentive to release adult version of Eroges you say? That was supposed to be their obligation , isn't?!

So now we have to support censored All-ages versions in order to maybe get an Adult original version?

That's just another reason to ban Eroges from steam.

I don't think all-ages versions are accessories to the adult ones. Quite the opposite, Steam is rather big source of income to abandon it just like that (heck, MoeNovel is not even bothering with adult content). Either companies will keep trying to comply with Steam vague guidelines or we are going back to pre-2012 way of things.

Some discussions do seem to point to the Hot-Coffee-style patches as the main culprit, but i wonder about Kindred Spirits (sex scenes without genitals not fine for Steam after all? strangely the ordeal passed Gakhthun), Mutiny! (adult content is inside patch, so what's the problem?) and Re;Lord (not sure about their patch) though. More than that, is SakuraGame/LilyGame not affected or what? They are the biggest offenders here, lol.

New Regional Pricing Now Available in Select Regions – JAST USA

Wow, now that's some good news. Hopefully other stores will catch up on this.
