Well, I just think steam doesn't like me, so I don't use it much. I usually buy physical copies of games most of the time if possible. My usual download speed is about 1.5-2 mb/s when I'm on base, and I've tried the different servers and it never gets above 800 kb/s transfer rate on any of them. Not saying that Steam itself is bad, just that it doesn't seem to like me.

They do have a crappy downloading system...at least for me they do. One minute it would be about an 800 kb/s transfer rate then it will go down to a 30-60 and stay there for about an hour then go back up and back down. It never does it for direct download sites and torrents. Took me about a day to download Shogun 2.

I personally love it, but it depends on the person and their taste. It is like other shooters out there, they are fun by yourself for a while, but don't have that lasting appeal unless you can play it with people you know or at least talk to.

Yeah, I get what you are saying, but it is a video game company and to put bluntly, they just want money, and the more popular a game is, which Arma 2 is, the more money they will try to squeeze out of it. A good example is Battlefield 2. It came out in 2005 but EA is still selling it for 20 US dollars, mainly because of the PR mod which is extremely popular for people looking for a more "realistic" FPS.

Well you could think of it like this.... They have the full version on Steam for 20 US dollars, which most people will buy if they have a rather decent PC, but there is a free version for people who might just be getting into PC gaming or they don't have a very good graphics card in it. Well that is how I think about it because most companies just make a demo of a mission or a map against bots or maybe nothing at all.

I love this mod, but I hardly get to play it with my schedule lately. Looks amazing with max settings.
