  1.

Come on, don't they have enough money now? They have released quite a bunch of VN by now and most of them seem to have sold decently well, so they should be able to fund new VN without needing to use kickstarter.

It look like they are just being greedy now or maybe they just aren't sure that VN will end up being popular, but that's a risk they should take.

A company(i guess they are big enough by now to be considerated a company) won't grow past a certain limit if they don't take risk.

  2. can't count tears to tiara 2 for me cause i don't play PS3 (do have one but probably will rarely ever use it again) and littlewitch isn't much gameplay as it is luck with you being able to influence it a little.

    Damn that stupid.

Tears of Tiara isn't on a platform i play or can play so it doesn't count and Littlewitch don't have as much gameplay or the kind of gameplay i want so it doesn't count either.

That's how stupid your post sound like -_-

  3. can't wait for bunny black, its been too long since a VN with gameplay has been release (at least that i've played) last one i played was yumina, which i liked but the gameplay got repetitive too quickly so i had ended up cheating to get to the story quicker. i might go and replay kamidori dual savior and others if i can remember the names of some.

3 months ago isn't what i call such a long times.

Tears of Tiara 2 was released on november and more recently near the end of december Littlewitch was released.

  4. It actually looks pretty interesting. :) It's too bad I've boycotted indie devs - been burnt by funding too many indie VNs that turned out to "look good in concept, lackluster in reality". It's abit frustrating to drop 30 - 50$ and find out a story took about a week to write (or so it comes across to the reader, heh).

Most of the VN i have funded aren't finish yet even though i funded some of them over a year ago and 2 of the VN i have funded were cancelled, so yeah i also decided to boycott indie devs.

  5. From last week's thread:

They did not lose the translation. They lost the QC efforts in one route. It has been set back by a few weeks, unfortunately. The translations exist, they're on youtube, they're on the hard drives of many contributors, they've been seen in many screenshots. It's stupid that the QCer didn't have any backups of his work, and the patching process they're employing is bizarre, but whatever. Part of the reason for the weird patching process is because it's being taken from a youtube translation and then edited outside of the game's script files. They have to come up with their own custom solutions in order to adapt the outside translation to the game files. They certainly could have found a more efficient method, I'm sure, but it's not like a standard translation where they extract the scripts, edit them, and repack.

Anyways, point being, it's real, you'll just have to deal with some of the stupid nonsense along the way before you can get your hands on it.

Yeah i saw that soon after i posted, but they locked the thread soon after i posted that so i wasn't able to edit.

Still, i really hope it's real and they are just unlucky.

I saw too many similar things of peoples saying they were working on something and than later after giving reason after reason for delaying the project, they disappear or outright tell it was all bullshit, that now i can't help but doubt when i see thing like that happening.

    Now they lost the translation...

I really want to believe that project is true, but their problems seem way to convenient to me.

When they were near finishing all translation and editing, the guy who was supposed to do the patch was too busy with the holiday, once holiday was done they weren't able to contact that guy anymore, so they "hired" a bunch of peoples to make the patch in his place, but for some reason all of them needed weeks to do something lot of peoples are able to do in a few hours and now he lose all the translation.

So many peoples want to see a complete patch so much, that they prefer to think it's cursed rather than thinking it is all elaborated bullshit.

  7. Funding frenzy has stabilised for now, although I feel like it will not kick up again since what people wanted from the start were the console/handheld ports.

380 is a long shot and I suspect it won't get that far but, meh. I'm not a manga fan so...

but hey, remember the potato salad? anything can happen I guess? XD

I think the chance they reach the manga stretch is actually quite high.

There's still 45 days left for the kickstarter and often kickstarter get a last huge boost in the last day or 2.

Also they will add paypal support soon which will most likely help them get a few thousands more at least.

  8. is it just me or all august titles are doomed to not be translated completely, like this three: https://vndb.org/v232, https://vndb.org/v87, https://vndb.org/v3770 and now one more, https://vndb.org/v8158

Well, Yoake have been fully translated for years now, but they are taking a hell of a long times editing and seem like they refuse to release another patch until the editing is done...

Edit: Oh seem like i was wrong, they are done with the editing after almost 2 years and a half, they are now have been doing QC for 9 months -_- http://erengy.com/projects/yoake

  9. There is a lot of elitist and self entitled bullshit on this forum Yu, don't let it get you down. Keep up the good work and know that at least some of us appreciate it.

More than just some, the majority appreciate it.

Peoples are quick to critique things, but not so often give praise, so it often seem that peoples always critique your work, but most of the times when only a few peoples complain it's because the majority are happy.

  10. Ah I didnt know about that - that actually does sound pretty bad tbh. Either they aren't hitting sales (in general) enough to reach the goal, and in turn is a desprate ploy to bring more attention - or it hopes to waive off piracy. Typically MG has "always" charged based on length of a title - so its either short, or they done goofed. :p

    EDIT: Eden* - Short (2 - 10 hours) - VNDB

That would be my guess on the pricing, tbh. If they think people will pay more then that for a title of that length, when Steam sells (terrible) VNs at the 15 - 20 range, then they would be kidding themselves. Their project goal might end up being abit too ambitous; the problem is they have to entice the demograph interested in VNs - and we are a pretty niche group already, I dunno if they could ever get enough money out of us even if they charged more.

We aren't as niche as we used too though.

10K sales is quite possible for a VN on steam, specially if it's on sales.

A lot of games on steam make far more profit during sales that they do without sales.

  11. Whatever happened to Majikoi and Majikoi S? I read them one or two years ago but they seem to both be in the same state they were back then. I thought they were done by different groups? Did both groups enter a huge hiatus? Majikoi in particular was already 85% finished by the end of 2012 I think...

    Both Yandere(Majokoi) and Wairu(Majikoi S) are dead
