ty ty, that ended up being the problem. I had changed it to Japanese after I had installed the game and it was giving me troubles. strangely enough Alchemy Meister didn't give me any trouble.

hmm I'm playing under japanese locale but my text is still showing up like it is in your screen shot. Are there any other ways to fix it or any fonts I should download and add?
