Patches

I am loving this game but cannot save. Every time I try to save the game crashes. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I am running Windows Vista.

If "explicit content" was part of the "original content" in the game, if any images that featured 'visible body parts', let alone those that were part of kissing scenes, have been removed, then I'm sorry but the original content does not in fact remain. I know what they are trying to say, the game itself beyond these changes remains largely intact and the overall plot is (perhaps) left unaltered but when censorship of content and removal of scenes has been acknowledged as occurring even stating the overall plot is largely unaltered does not mean the 'original content' remains. Hirameki has been brought up by others, and I agree it should be, as an example and a warning to this company. In some of Hirmakei's releases the remove of 'explicit content' was so obvious, regardless of how critical those scenes were or were not to the plot, it was laughable and created moments of such sudden massive polar shifts in character relationships that it is hard for me to tell if some of those games, other than Hourglass of Summer which I actually liked, were suppose to be as funny as they ended up. A major problem in this case is, at this time we don't know the entirety of what they consider 'explicit content' which has been removed or the full extent of what language is being changed, beyond what is necessary in translations, in order to open If my Heart had Wings to a 'wider audience'. In the end, my fear is likely the same as many others here, no matter how good a game If my Heart had Wings truly is and how little the h-scenes mean to the overall plot, by removing them and whatever other material such as kissing scenes which have been deemed 'explicit content', this game might become a shadow of it's true self. To me it is a mystery why (if they didn't consider it) there was no consideration given to releasing an H-Version and a non-H-Version at the same time. They would already have the translation for most of the game when doing a non-h version and indications are they have the h-scenes available to them, so what is a few more scenes added back and a bit of dialogue changed but most importantly how much more could it truly cost them, particularly if the h-version can be sold as print on demand? I for one always believe the market can use one more company releasing these games, but I am truly not sure this is the best move for them to get even a toehold in the market or garner massive support. In the end, I truly hope they succeed and start releasing both quality h-games and all ages games, but if they are going to do all ages, focus on games like Little Busters which didn't original have h-scenes from the start.

I have done a quick search and cannot find if anyone else is even having this problem and from a quick search of this thread did not see it mentioned. I reach the point in the game when I start speaking with Mare about swimsuits and meeting for the beach and have just dodged an attack by her when the following error message appears "etc/094 followed by Japanese characters" (please see following screen capture): . The game screen is white at the time and the game then crashes. Is there a fix for this problem? What is causing it? Just wanted to add I have the locale set properly and it is patched up to version 1.2. Thank you all for your help.

EDIT: I got the error message again here it is: Is there a reason though when I tried different boot settings or with the 64 patch installed it might have given me the blank screen for a few moments as if the game is loading before crashing to desktop instead of the error message? Does that mean I am close to being able to load the game? EDIT: I am not sure if this one will help you but this another form of the error message, this pops up when I click on BHVC.exe When I click the reg application I do have a screenshot for this one: UPDATE: The reg error seems to be fixed, though I am not sure how, possibly uninstalling and reinstalling the x64 patch again. I have also tried running setup.exe which is running, again I am not sure how setup.exe is now working without and error message at this time. It is however running in English after being patched. That page allowed me to reinstall the game and afterwards gives me a Start Game Option, but when I start the game through the Setup.exe menu, the game runs in Japanese despite having been seemingly patched based on the english setup.exe menu options. When I attempt to run the game through the BGI.exe, despite the game booting through Setup.exe, the game either gives me the error noted toward the top of the page or the flickering blank screen that crashes to desktop. I thank you for any help.

I am having the same problem as gabsilog. To add to some of what has been said and to mention things also tried, I have tried the default location, tried installing and uninstalling the game, have even tried it in a compatibility mode (running Windows Vista tried compatibility for XP), the pc is set to run as a Japanese locale and nothing is working. I cannot see the error message or image gabsilog posted, but if it is basically BGI.exe followed by something in Japanese, that is the error I am getting. When attempting to run in a compatibility mode, the game seems to start to load, the screen goes blank but then it crashes back to desktop and I don't get the error message. Also it is still not showing in the registry and when I try to run the reg file I get an error 2100 and Japanese lettering. Is there a manual way to add it to registry and would that help? I have searched for a no-DVD patch and nothing seems to be out there... is it a simple settings switch?
