  1. Oh god that's a hard one. In reality, it's Majikoi. But seeing as Wairu fell off a cliff and died, that won't be happening anytime soon (hence me wanting to translate it myself). So my next in line would be Cou probably. However, if Shin Koihime Musou ever got started that would easily take the number one spot. I don't usually play nukiges, but I'm interested in Mezase and Zubu that I said in the last post. However, they aren't popular titles so I'm not hoping for much. *sigh* CGs exist for this reason.
  2. Hey, well I'm pretty satisfied with this week. Boob War 2, Ayakashibito, and Cou. All games I want to play. Not to mention, raidy 3 might be getting some work now, jsut finished 2 last week and am really looking forward to it! But, the things that would make me do a backflip: Majikoi S, Majikoi A, Shin Koihime Musou, more Muv-Luv titles (don't care which), Zubu Nure no Ane Kasumi, Mezase Ero Mangaka, and that about it that I can think of off the top of my head. By the way, what are the chances of those last 2 getting started up? (I'm trying to avoid talking any more about the team until I have something to announce. Please respect that for the time being, I'd rather talk about the weekly VNs than the team atm anyway. Part of it is because I have several tests this week and need to focus on that for a bit.)
  3. No mate! Definitely keep working at it, it took me about a year to get this far, so don't give up And thank you guys for the recommendations, I don't play Dota, but I understand your sentiments. Thanks a bunch
  4. No, we didn't advertise as making money. This is just another thing to toss on a resume. But no, what I was saying is I am getting a team together to start translations, but I've been the head of a game design group for the past 6 years. I do both :3 But on that note, Gerard is right. I am still getting the team together. What we need are recommendations of easy games to work on THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN TRANSLATED so that I can show the coders what to do. After that, assuming the team is still going to be together, THEN we will move over towards the harder games. So for the time being, hold your horses on what you want translated, of course we're going to take requests. Chacnes are we're going to work on 2-4 games at once depending on length and difficulty, so several people will get their wishes. However, Majikoi S is GOING to be one of them because I said so XD That was the main reason I started the team, because I'm a selfish dickface.
  5. This has got to be the most random place I have ever posted my work, but I love visual novels and figured I couldn't be the only one here that also loves FPS games. Figured a few of you might appreciate some of my work, I put a lot of thought and time into my channel. Hope you might check me out, my YouTube name is "Shado Gremory" or "/user/slgremory". Would love it if you guys might give me some feedback on my work, even if you don't play the games I do! Have a wonderful day, and happy belated Valentine's Day ~Shadolance
  6. The games we are working on haven't been released for anyone to play yet. Currently my team is working on 6 games at once, 3 of which are a part of a series. They are as follows: (Series - AoS) 1.) Arc of Shadows 2.) Army of Shadows 3.) Title pending (will have initials AoS) These are tactical singleplayer games that are modeled off of Final Fantasy Tactics, but have graphics and calculators similar to Fire Emblem. The third game has much of the planning done, but no working title or storyline. All we have are the mechanics, which are the same throughout the entire series. If you're interested in a general layout of the storyline, a quarter/third of the first game's storyline is published on finctionpress under the title "Valkral the Devil Angel", also written by me. I have the story up until the first quarter of the third game planned. (individual titles) 4.) ARK - This is a bullet hell based DIRECTLY off of the style of Touhou 6. It is mechas however, not magic. If you want the storyline, it's VERY similar to Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse. In fact, we changed the story a bit in order to mimic that anime. This game is nearing completion and is looking towards a summer release. As easter eggs, we included an unlockable at the end where remixed Touhou music plays instead of the original music. The final boss spaceship is based off of the Space Colony Ark from the Sonic franchise. 5.) The End is Near - This is an RPG game very similar to Final Fantasy. It is designed to be multiplayer online, and couldn't be better summed up than Final Fantasy 2 online. I specifically say FF2 because of the way magic works in that game, as opposed to with FF1 or any other game in the franchise. This is about halfway done, looking at release in mid-late 2015. 6.) Overworld - This game is just getting started. I couldn't say it any better than Counter Strike physics with CoD/BF/SF2 graphics on a DayZ sized world. It's a first person shooter RPG, where you have all the elements of an RPG such as clans, leveling up and economic system with ingame NPCs, but the aspects of an FPS like counter strike like rank, PvP, and a huge variety of weapons. Then, just picture it in a SF2-looking world with the size of DayZ maps. That's basically it. I wrote the entire engine for it myself, however (edited by others though) We do not have a website, we run from a TS3 server to coordinate, as some of our team members live further away. However, most of the team meets daily at my GF's place to work. We spend about 2-3 hours per day apiece, and there are 17 people on the development team. Some work on multiple games, some work on only one. However, each game has its own lead programmer and graphics designer. We sadly only have 2 sound design people, so that is by FAR the slowest part of our process. I am a game designer and backup programmer/editor. Hope you guys found this interesting.
  7. Talked to Tits this morning, he is literally a failure at English, but he's got to be one of the best programmers I've ever met. Hopefully he knows how to work with this stuff.
  8. I'm feelin pretty into it, but remember I'm on a campus of 20K+ students. A lot of people see the bulletin boards every day, and I covered all the cafeterias. Otherwise, we do want to work on 3-4 projects at once, since a lot of us have free time. As for the meetup thing, I also run a game design group for indie games, and having a place to meet up is a must have. Couldn't work without it, so I'm kinda OCD about it. But on your skeptical note, I do fully understand that. To be TOTALLY honest I was a bit surprised myself, and I am still skeptical as to how motivated these guys are. We all JUST met this week, so I am 95% just hoping this gets off the ground. If it starts to die too quickly I'll be upfront and honest about it, but we haven't gotten to the stage where e\we've even DONE anything yet, so can't tell for sure atm.
  9. To everyone who said the fliers idea wouldn't work.... HA! Got 8 people all ready to go. That was issue 1/3. However, now we have issue number 2/3: finding a place to work. We all live across campus from each other so at best we could meet once per week, which isn't good. Right now we're looking for a place to work together in case we need to spend the night. After that... the last issue will be having the coders play a few games first so they get the idea. Any ideas for test games they could try? Don't recommend games that you like, recommend ones that have fantastic GUIs. I'll make a separate thread in the appropriate area for requests once we get that far. We're hoping to get started once we hit 15 people. Currently out team consists of these people (by their chosen nicknames): Me - avid player, beta tester, coder, and error analysis Lunchbox - Japanese translator and scripter (works on GUI text) Tesla - coder only Turntable - japanese translation and moral support XD Zoe (My GF) - recruitment, supplies, food, beta tester, and team management ZZ - Translator only Mr Pickles - translator and quality control (I think you guys call it editing) Tits (yes that's the name he chose) - No clue what the hell this guy does. He only speaks japanese, but he's a great programmer. I have yet to have a conversation with him. Hoping to get started this coming summer after exams. That's our end goal. The one thing we all have in common is that we eat at the same place, so that's a plus.
  10. Finished making the fliers. I'm calling for a team of 20 people to translate 3 games at once. I'm going to head it. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it. (Room mate scoffed at me)
  11. Alright, simply due to me being dogshit tired of not having enough translation groups, I'm putting up flier around UC Berkeley to put a team together for this stuff. I'm a programmer (CS major) with a lot of free time this year surprisingly, and Berkeley has 20K+ students. I'm sure I can find someone, wish me luck.
  12. I shat myself when I read that, especially in the last week's thread I had JUST asked when it was going to be started.
  13. You people are depressing as shit -_-
  14. I'm trying to stay positive here guys Don't take that away from me! *cries a bit*
  15. THIS IS THE WEEK WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! This, my friends, is the path out of darkness! -Grisaia no Meikyuu is started! -Coμ has more progress! -Walkure Romanze same as above -Seina has progress D This week was a good week. Today is a good day.
  16. Sorry mate, I just can't stand older animation styles. There are FEW exceptions, and most of them are anime, not VNs. I like Ranma 1/2, and I like most of the stuff by MangaGamer. That's about it though.
  17. Too bad I agree with Higanbana sucking. And blowing.
  18. To those of you that helped me this week with the info on Grisaia no Miekyuu, kudos, thanks, aregatou!
  19. Thank you all for the help so far! Keep the recommendations coming, I've already found 3 new VNs to play (albeit they are somewhat short, about 8-10 hours apiece) courtesy of Riddle and Onemanarmy! Please keep recommending more
  20. I played it when it first got translated, I just don't update my VN lists often... or like ever...
  21. Title says it all, looking forward to these and would love them to be considered Pretty sure I'm not the first to post this though...
  22. Hey guys, I recently posted a short comment about this in the weekly status updates, but I wanted to make a thread for it too. I'm in need of recommendations for games that are similar to the following three: Koihime Musou Maji de Watashi Grisaia Kajitsu Now, I'll say this ahead of time but I've played a TON of VNs, like a metric fuckton. I just want ideas, preferably ones that have complete, currently translating, or almost complete translations for most of the routes. Any and all suggestions are great, but I warn you: If it's a mainstream VN like G-Senjou, I'VE PLAYED IT, OR I DROPPED IT. Also, while I'm not opposed to playing short VNs, I'd rather have one to entertain myself for a while. NOTE: If you want to check out my VN list to get ideas of what I like and stuff, my VNDB account is made public for viewing, name is still "Shadolance". Links below. Even if you're recommending something on my To-Play list, that's important! I'll just move it up on my list of VNs to play. VN List: shadolance's visual novel list VN Wishlist: shadolance's wishlist Thank you all for your help! I'd also love to make recommendations for you guys, so if you have questions PLEASE do ask me! ~Shadolance out
  23. I appreciate you trying to help... but we've spent the past 2 weeks pointing out that I've already played G-Senjou, dislike Clannad and DA Capo, and already plan on playing/watching Little Busters... read the previous posts before replying :/ It's almost comical, because those have been the EXACT VNs I've been commenting on for the past 2 months XD EDIT* After re-reading that, it sounds a bit cynical. I don't mean it to sound that way, I really do appreciate you trying to help, but the points are sadly already made If you have other recommendations though I'd love to hear them.
  24. On a different note though, does anyone know a couple of things: 1) When/If Grisaia Meikyuu is going to be translated? 2) Games that are similar to Grisaia Kajitsu/Majikoi/Koihime Musou?
