  1. Certainly the style of a lot of VNs are changing rapidly. The old style "frame" they used to have seems to be dissipating... not that that's a bad thing, but some of the releases are less desirable...
  2. What we need are for some of these youngsters to pick this crap up and run with it. Nowadays people are too into the real world, pity on them because it sucks. Taxes, school, anythingbesideseatingandsleeping, it all gets so old... WE NEED A REVOLUTION! Methinks we should go on a translator hunt... (and for some reason my autocorrect doesn't think "Methinks" is spelled incorrectly, but "autocorrect" is...)
  3. Yes... it DOES have a storyline. If you ever took basic history classes in high school, you probably at some point took a civilizations class or something similar. The story follows history fairly closely, with some minor changes to allow for sensibility in regards to the VN. As far as GSnM, you have to be a certain kind of person to like that kind of game. It's basically Death Note or Code Geass in VN form. Some people don't like VNs that make them think, I understand
  4. Slowest week ever... Is it just me or is VN translation a dying art...
  5. Well you have to look at it with a critical eye. It's a different TYPE of VN, not designed to be a linear story. Yes, the main point of it is comedy, but the concept of having many different heroines is difficult to pull off since every character has to be well developed. Not many VNs pull it off well. Majikoi and the Koihime Musou series do an excellent, but because it's a slice of life type story, there is no end goal such as with G-Senjou no Maou or other streamline VNs. It's a three way tradeoff between number of characters, character development, and sensible storyline. G-Senjou and Clann
  6. One, I do dislike Clannad. The animation style was far too cutesy, same reason I didn't like Lucky Star. And I don't DISLIKE Wanko, I love all the Majikoi girls above almost every other from other VNs, but Wanko is my second to least favorite (below her being the youngest Itagaki sister).
  7. Yeah I really disliked Clannad actually... so I'll drop that topic. Any idea what the team will be working on after Air?
  8. Just a serious question here, what is so good about Air? I've never seen/played it, or even heard about it before I started coming to this site. What's the hubbub about?
  9. Glad to see some stuff on Walkure, but I'm still not planning on starting it until after I finish the anime and they translate the second game too... maybe.
  10. You are a lifesaver. The first one was for me, the second one was for me AND a friend. You just made our Saturday night's
  11. Hey guys, I have a couple of links that I'm curious about, what anime/VNs/series are these characters from in each one? http://thebest404pageever.com/swf/rumpshaker.swf Get Her Knocked Up! | Queen is in trouble Thanks if you're able to help! Notes: I'm aware that the first one is an anime, not likely a VN (although if it has one I would love to know which one) The second I think might be a fanbase thing, I've seen some OVAs with the same characters, but I think since Taimanin Asagi and a few other series did something similar, this might be the case with this one. Obviously it's
  12. The main headline for this week looks interesting, but it's not going to be high on my to-play list.
  13. Well he seemed reliable to me, given his previous projects Either way, it's not a game I'm personally interested in, just an event from last week. Is the game particularly good, on that note? I'm running out of good things to play again, after running through A Profile again :/
  14. I actually spoke to the translator for that project a week ago about doing a different project, he turned me down BECAUSE that's next on his list. I know he's about to pick it back up, spoke with him myself.
  15. Eh, slow week. Definitely planning on Cocoro when it's fully translated and edited, but for now I'll be riding on the back burner. (And praying for Majikoi)
  16. Oh I;m not hatin on Wanko, I love all the girls, I just have my favorites too XD Although I gotta say I'm BEYOND thrilled to ahve another Majikoi lover here with me, I'm a BEYOND avid fan. Favorite VN of all time
  17. *Unpopular opinion puffin* I personally didn't think the anime of Walkure was that bad... but I wish it had been summed up a bit better in the end, or at least a second season :/ On the other hand I'm waiting for 11eyes too, the anime got me all excited for the game, and here I was hoping it had already had a full translation *sigh* As for the paradise games... I'm still new in that department...
  18. WHY DOES THE FEATURED GAME WITH SUCH GOOD GRAPHICS NOT HAVE HENTAI! It looks so good too... and the females look... nice... *cries in a corner*
  19. I agree with you, that it all comes down to tastes. Maybe it's just better to leave things like this unexplained, for the sake of people's interests... let's just kill this topic here. My bad for bringing it up, curiosity killed the Shadolance.
  20. That's an old update though, they honestly haven't touched shit since last July, and I would set a world record on a real-life CoD killing spree for them to finish. Wairu Translations does a great job, when they ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING. In theory they were also supposed to finish Kamikaze Explorer like 2 years ago, but big surprise, they stopped doing that too. Originally when Ganon still worked with them they were WAY more on top of things, but Pun-Kun just isn't delivering, and it's making a lot of fans (including me) very upset. In all honestly though, it isn't the lack of updates that anger
  21. No but that's my point, I HAVE tried it, actually got almost 100% on the first one, but I don't see what's so great about it... are the later ones better or something? Or does it have an anime/manga? I can't see it having either... just trying to figure out how it got such a rabid fanbase. Like I said before - I'm a game designer - it's my job to make games fun, and to do that I need to know what people find fun and why.
  22. Why are so many people interested in MGQ? It seems extremely half-assed, at least from a game development side (Source: I'm a professional game designer for indie teams). I mean, I realize it's SUCCESSFUL, it has at least 3 games in a series and makes well over the average amount of income than an average game, so that says something. What's so appealing about it? I'm just confused :/ I'm open to any opinions, I just want to know why it's popular. I don't judge on tastes.
  23. And the award for the least interesting weekly update goes to...
