  1. ...Dude, there is a serious difference in morals between two girls having sex verses illustrated child porn.

Never said otherwise. I'm probably just desensitized by the internet (hard to be bothered after you've read about Mai-chan's Daily Life (and yet still won't disregard the possibility)).

That said, i can understand people liking yuri or DFC, and i can't understand them liking lolicon or guro, but as napoleon said - "Isn't it fine if every gets their kicks as long as no one gets hurt?"

Anyway, i think we should stop discussing morals in VNs. Let's bash Steam instead ;) It wasn't mentioned here, but Steam retracted all censorship notices and said it's going to "re-review" those visual novels that got one (no news about that since). I have a feeling that "re-review" will find nothing wrong in those games (well, maybe flag-patches would be an issue, but those shouldn't have existed in the first place, tbh). On one hand that would mean no problems for visual novels on Steam again for a while, but on the other - that could have been a chance to get a little less vague guidelines.

  2. Nah, i'm not trying to say yuri is as bad as lolicon nor i have a problem with people liking it (don't care about both, same for guro), it's just not up my valley, and i find it funny when in some discussions yuri/lolicon/DFC/anything else i don't like is assumed to be something everyone enjoys.

I've mentioned Daitoshokan recently (been a year and a half since last update), but perhaps people are clinging to the glimmer of hope that it will see the light of the day :D

  3. Haha, they both go the Ugly tier then.

How refreshing to see people bashing lolicon. I know preferences and shit, but sometimes people talk about lolicon (or yuri :D) like it's the most natural thing to like. For example, topic on Hajimete no Okaa-san's vndb discussion page.

  4. What I mean is basically this:

If Eroges get banned from Steam all releases would be on MG, JAST and similar stores , where there is no content cutting.

Less incentive to release adult version of Eroges you say? That was supposed to be their obligation , isn't?!

So now we have to support censored All-ages versions in order to maybe get an Adult original version?

That's just another reason to ban Eroges from steam.

I don't think all-ages versions are accessories to the adult ones. Quite the opposite, Steam is rather big source of income to abandon it just like that (heck, MoeNovel is not even bothering with adult content). Either companies will keep trying to comply with Steam vague guidelines or we are going back to pre-2012 way of things.

Some discussions do seem to point to the Hot-Coffee-style patches as the main culprit, but i wonder about Kindred Spirits (sex scenes without genitals not fine for Steam after all? strangely the ordeal passed Gakhthun), Mutiny! (adult content is inside patch, so what's the problem?) and Re;Lord (not sure about their patch) though. More than that, is SakuraGame/LilyGame not affected or what? They are the biggest offenders here, lol.

New Regional Pricing Now Available in Select Regions – JAST USA

Wow, now that's some good news. Hopefully other stores will catch up on this.

  5. How many of you guys actually bought VNs on Steam? I can't see why people are acting like if this is the Apocalypse of VN/Eroges , Mangagamer and Jast will continue doing just fine without Steam.

Eh, i usually buy VNs on Steam, cause regional pricing. No way i can handle US prices.

Maybe now we're not gonna have to wait months for publishers release +18 patch/version of VNs , in some cases they don't even release the Original Adult version at all (A Sky Full of Stars)

Steam was the main excuse to All-ages only releases , that might for the best. Also , this can ruin Sekai Project business model , isn't that great?! :)

Not seeing your point here. Do you mean the fact that no adult version coming will cripple demand for all-ages versions? I think, it would give them less incentive to release adult versions and more reasons to censor stuff. Not sure how that would affect SP's Kickstarter-mania, either.

I wonder is those DLSite games got notified by Valve as well, those seem to be greater offenders.

That said, we still do not understand what is fine and what is not, sasuga Valve.

That said, HuniePop technically had adult content on Steam from beginning, it's accessible via flag-file (think GTA:SA Hot Coffee, but easier to restore), so did few other games, which i always found strange.

  6. Use Bugmenot, Luke!

Well, i think Ninja_Named_Bob summarized it pretty well on a 3rd page.

NorzZ felt targeted (chiakisan is trying to buy 2nd on-going translation from him) and that chiakisan is trying to use him by getting his translation for "measly" $500 while aiming at huge profit, so he pretty much went into refusal the moment he heard the amount proposed. On the other hand, chiakisan was interested in not having fan-translation together with an official one (so it wouldn't hurt the sales), and tried to talk it out with NorzZ about what would be a fair agreement, willing to up the money (he told he is not going to pursue legal actions against him regardless of outcome). NorzZ wasn't really cooperative in that regard, but finally asked if chiakisan could pay $5000. Chiakisan counter-offered with $3000, only to abandon the hope of reaching an agreement an hour later.

  7. It's basically the Anime (that everyone already watched) but with a Save/Load option , what's the point? I don't get it.

And choices. How much of the original + Phenogram did anime cover though? I would imagine they'd have to do additional animation for everything else (or blatantly reuse existing). Besides, that would be the only official english Phenogram release.

  8. They are probably too scared about Japanese getting their hands on demosaic patch (cause that would be a lot easier than importing Physical Edition).

BTW, never seen this mentioned here, but Steins;Gate Senkei Kousoku no Phenogram got a Ren'Py port with Chinese to English translation last October. Hiyoku Renri no Darling is getting the same treatment. Not exactly sure which i would prefer though: Youtube translation or Chinese-to-English translated port (or Steins;Gate ELITE version, for Senkei Kousoku no Phenogram).

  9. Heh, i remember being surprised that TYPE-MOON was blamed for milking F/SN around the time Fate/Zero aired (i never really separated Tsukihime and Melty Blood, so i considered F/SN and Tsukihime tied atm) but it really went south from there, going as far as getting an F2P spin-off (then again what doesn't nowadays, even my all-time favorite Red Alert is getting one T_T ).

[HYBRID BEING] its not good to offend people !!!!

Jeez, no need to get offended over a little sarcastic remark, even if it was a misunderstanding on my part.

It wasn't my intention to offend you, but please do try to word yourself better. It's really hard to understand you sometimes.

  10. Steam version has a different translation (i heard both previous translations weren't good either, so i can't really say, which is the best one, but i also heard Moenovel outsourced translation in 5 parts, with one of translators claiming other translations suck). It also has some new scenes and CGs (higher res but cropped, although at this point i'm not sure which version first did crop them).
