Helvetica Standard Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 You believe Kuuderes are expressionless by norm? yes or no Quote
Haika Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 By the very nature of being called a -dere in the first place means that they will eventually show quite a bit of emotion. Kuudere's in general are usually considered to be more sociable under the right conditions as compared to say a Tsun or (especially) a Dan. Like a military officer, or a strong warrior type. They tend to act more calm and mature, without getting overly angry or disruptive. However, I don't think completely expressionless characters exist. By human nature we show emotions in our own ways, and in a story like a VN or anime or whatever, a truly expressionless character would be utterly boring. Even the most guarded and cold kuu types show expressions and emotion in their own ways, even before you reach the dere part. To geek out a bit, I liken it to Vulcans in Star Trek. They want to believe they are cold and emotionless, but those same emotions are there inside, and still effect them, some even more than humans because they bottle it all up. Quote

iLoveTsundere Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Its less about being emotionless and more about being detached from people. Like its been said and i agree , i dont think kuuderes have no emotions because thats not true in my opinion. Its more of the feeling of being detached. Quote
Avenger Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Kuudere A character, often cold and harsh on the outside; but swirling with feelings inside. The character is kind of impartial or a little hard to deal with, but isn't exactly rude or harsh like a tsundere. From "kuu-" (cool). By definition, kuuderes are usually mostly expressionless. Obviously some can break the norm, but then are they really Kuudere or just partly Kuudere? Quote
