    Is the person who is referred to as nee-san actually their sister, blood related or adopted, or is it merely an endearment? If it is only an endearment, maybe the translation was chosen for the benefit of complete newcomers to VNs. Most of us here are relatively familiar with the standard tropes of Japanese VN's but maybe the translator thought "dearest" would make more sense to some one who doesn't have our familiarity with those tropes. Also, at the risk of asking a dumb question, since the VN DOES say "dearest", how do you know the original Japanese was "nee-san"?

    If you could stomach this title all the way to the first h-scene, I take my hat off to you. The protagonist doesn't need to always be an overachieving super hero, but I prefer them to at least have an IQ higher than a rock and some basic human decency.

Look at just about any title uploaded here for the past year if you need an example, and you can reference Throbbinhood’s time stamping efforts from a couple of uploads ago for an effective non-example.

    This title is still on my To Be Played list so I don't have any direct experience with it, but if those two aspects are on the same general level as other VNs I played that also have that, that is a very minor annoyance over which to refuse to play a VN.

    There's a line in the VN Riddle Joker that, based on the context, I'm fairly certain is a reference to a movie or book or the like, but it's going over my head. I'm hoping somebody can tell me what it's referencing. The scene has one of the main characters just finishing up hacking a computer and covering their digital tracks when an alarm sounds. Fortunately for them, the alarm is not about them. Somebody else tripped an alarm on something unrelated to what they were doing at a different location. The character who was hacking the computer, who is an otaku, starts momentarily panicking in the moments before they realize that the alarm isn't for them and, in what I'm assuming is an otaku delusional state, says "I don't know why but the letters BABEL are on my screen!". That's the line I'm assuming is a reference to something else. Can anyone actually clue me in on what book/movie/etc. the reference comes from?
