    Sabbat of the Witch

Statistical anomaly that will never happen again: You know how at the top of the vndb.org homepage it has four screen shots of four different games? I opened the webpage in order to take a peak at their entry for this game, and this game was the first of the four screen shots.
  2. Now this sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the upload Ivan.
  3. This is just a theory, I have no evidence to support it whatsoever, as I'm not familiar with either the technical aspects of the actual software or the translating profession. Looking at VN's in general, the only difference between the All Ages (or at least 17+) version and the 18+ is the inclusions a few extra scenes that, strictly speaking, are not necessary to the story (you don't have to show them in the act, just state that they did it). Given such, it would make sense for the translator's to focus on those scenes last. They can produce a working, marketable product sooner, reducing the risk the project is cancelled before they can finish. Afterwords, they can go back and translate those remaining scenes. I do agree with your sentiment, however, that they should, in due course, make the 18+ version as well. The remaining scenes aren't all that many in comparison to what they worked on before, and really, how much linguistic skill does it take to translate a bunch of panting and moaning? If necessary, grab an already translated project off your shelf, copy, paste, and edit in a few corrections for different names. If the game is a sequel, you don't even have to do the editing. Just to be clear, some of my above statements assume that the game in question has more total words in the non-sex scenes then the count of sex scenes, not the words in them, present in the game.
  4. Ahhhh... That's no fun. You really need to add an "Identity Crisis" tag.
  5. Sequel: English AND Japanese tags? Do we finally have a game with an identity crisis? Or is it the more boring and rational possibilities that you can switch languages in the same version of the game?
  6. I think you killed the debate, Ivan. "The site's admin has ruled, I'm not gonna disagree and risk getting banned from the site." says the average website user. I was kinda hoping to get at least thirty total votes in the poll.
  7. The debates seems to have narrowed in onto only two choices, game or book. While there is nothing wrong with arguing one of those two points, it was not my intent to limit this debate to ONLY those two choices, should somebody have another opinion on the matter.
  8. I remember the choose your own adventure books. But that still makes the point they are closer to books than games.
  9. Mostly because I'm bored, I have decided to try and start a debate. The question: Should visual novels be classified as "games"? I propose they should not. While they are quite fun and entertaining, there is very little interactivity. I think it would be more appropriate to classify them as e-books. Added September 5th, 2018 8:41 EST: The debates seems to have narrowed in onto only two choices, game or book. Additional note: I set the above poll to private. In theory*, no one can see who voted what. *In theory, theory and practice are one and the same. In practice, theory and practice are completely different.
  10. I wonder if the artist for this game worked on the Grisaia series. The above picture as well as the font in the title remind me of those game and the girl does seem to resemble Michiru slightly.
  11. What game(s) specifically are you trying to download? I'll try to download them myself. Also, is the problem limited to any specific parts, or are all part files being a problem?
  12. While I have no idea how to do that, I'm not sure you should even if you could. We are technically stealing from services like to Steam, not to mention the game creators. Do you really want to run the risk of bringing your self to the attention of the police if Steam realizes your using a pirated version of the game? After all, there is logical disconnect between the fact you have achievements for a game and that your account has no purchase record for that game, so how are you playing it to gain the achievements? All the police would have to do is get your billing address from steam to start the process of hunting you down. They might not even need to a court issued warrant since I'm sure Steam would be eager to see you caught and there for fully cooperate on their own initiative.
  13. ACKKK!!! Too much noise after all that silence. My ears are bleeding.
  14. This thread is starting to seem like a sensory deprivation chamber... though how would I know without any sensory input to tell me?
  15. The silence is deafening.
  16. I just downloaded and started playing "Tsundere Idol" (https://erogegames.com/tsundere-idol-my-personal-m-pet-1085/). When I set the program to full screen, the picture starts shimmying for want of a better term. I'm running windows 10 and I have tried running compatibility mode. Any suggestions? The game seems to work properly when I run it in windowed mode so it's not like I can't play the game.
  17. FYI: This game is technically set in the same world, though I'm fairly certain not the same city, as Princess Evangile, or at least a parallel version of it. In Yorihime's route, there is an occurrence of something that shows up in Princess Evangile. I won't say what to avoid spoilers. I've only completed Yorihime's and Julia's routes so far and have only found the one reference so far, so there may be more references in other routes. I've also notice they reused the same background image for riding on a bus, but that's more likely the company Moonstone being too cheap to make a new graphic than evidence of a shared setting. I'm also assuming that the shared reference between games is something that was invented for the game and doesn't actually exist in a Japan, otherwise we have an alternate explanation for the shared reference.
  18. I just started a test download of part 1 via the free option. I'm getting the full 250KB/s. (Point of note: While I understood what you meant, "KB" is not the same thing as "Kb".)

    Girls in Glasses

The title of this one seems to be a little strange. Yes, all the girls in the picture, whom I assume are the heroines, are wearing glasses, but based on the synopsis, that has absolutely nothing to do with the game. Glasses aren't even mentioned in the synopsis. You would think the author(s) of the game would pick a title that somehow reflected the game a little better.
  20. Just to verify, does this game not have an entry in vndb.org?
  21. I'm just re-posting what I wrote in the comments section of the game Tropical Liquor.
