Hmmm.... My final impression was that Ef was amazing. It had its weak points to be honest, but the overall story was nothing short of a work of art. My final impression of Yuuko well.... I'm sure my avatar kind of gives my opinion of her away.

Hey everyone! My favorite anime is code geass and my favorite VN is Ever 17. My favorite heroine though will always be Yuuko from Ef. Hope we will get along well and hopefully get some more members in the future as well.

I really liked your review a lot. I personally thought everything up to chapter 4 was decent but the story really came on strong in chapter 4. Although Ef was not my all time favorite VN it will probably have a special place in my heart no matter what I read from now on.
BIG BIG BIG SPOILERS FOR EF
I had read a few VN's before this and thought that I could not really be surprised anymore by a VN's story but I was very wrong with Yuuko's story. Up to that point the stories had been fairly tame and I had gotten used to the whole fall in love with a girl, she has an issue that you help her get through, then it is over. With Yuuko's story though I was completely shocked and apalled when I found out what happened to her not just once, but over and over again. It was crazy but I really wanted to hurt that bastard Amamiya, he does not get a Mr. as he doesn't deserve the respect! Then after she is finally starting to move forward and is expecting a child with Yuu she dies and her and the baby are lost. I hated the ending, at the time, most of all because I felt that if anyone should have lived happily it should have been her.
With that said though, I did like the ending the way it was after I finished the VN. I can't really explain why but it seemed more real to me that way and I think the reason it left such a long term emotional impact was BECAUSE things did not end up happily ever after. Sort of the reason why Greek tragedies are still remembered today I guess.

Another memorable moment for me from Ever 17:
BIG
Ever 17 Sora's route when she had her mini breakdown after revealing she saw Takeshi and Tsugumi having sex. Had never seen that side of her before and the way they portrayed her struggle with herself, literally and figuratively, made the entire route worth it for me. Definitely made her feel more like a real person than just a artificial system at that moment.

Would it be possible to make the introductions thread a "sticky" though so its always one of the first threads seen. It may have just been a fluke but it was on the second or third page when I finally noticed it.
If not, what would be the criteria for qualifying a thread for that status just for personal curiousity in the future.

Hey everyone, I was hoping that someone might know about a version of Katawa Shoujo that is entirely in Japanese. I have been studying Japanese for 2 months now and I am finally getting to a point where I can use it to read visual novels, for studying reasons as well as personal enjoyment, and Katawa Shoujo is one novel I would like to reread in Japanese to improve my comprehension. I have looked on the main Katawa Shoujo site but they only have act 1 translated to multiple languages and I can't find a Japanese patch anywhere. If anyone knows were to find a patch I would be really really appreciative.

I was looking in the game lobby and realized that there is not a thread for the metal gear solid (MGS) series. This simply cannot continue so here it is for MGS fans everywhere to discuss.
The poll only has the 4 main titles for the MGS series but all metal gear titles are fair game to discuss.My favorite title in the MGS series was MGS3.
This is because, BIG SPOILER HERE FOR MGS 3,
The boss was an amazingly in depth character who sacrificed everything for her country. She showed everyone what sacrificing for a greater cause is all about and was a very strong woman that even Volgin could not help being intimidated by her a bit, watch the torture scene again because he backs up fast when the Boss gets in his face. She also managed to be an important figure without having to resort to skinship, thinking EVA here, and even though she was strong she was still very much a woman as well.

Oh, but we've forgotten the most important point. If eroge were popular in the west, sites like erogedownload and downloadani would be shut down, and then it's back to paying a month's wages for a single game.
darn that is a pretty good point actually, though I would argue about this site being shut down as I think they are still operating within the law but its a gray area. There would be more regulation on our end however, so it would definitely be harder to operate openly. My original opinion still stands strong for me though. Sites like this one might have to change their current business model and structure but if they are willing to change and they have good people it is not necessarily a death sentence.

Seem to be getting different stories here. I personally don't care if Ivan puts ads on the site or not, he's the admin and he can do what he feels is best in my opinion. Could someone please explain a bit more about those addons for chrome though. I would like to see if they can solve my problem.

yeah this started happening to me about a week ago on erogedownloads site. Hasn't happened here though so I'm not sure why thats happening to you on this site. My operating system is win7 64 if that has any relation to the problem.

the problem is the 2nd part, its supposed to be 190 mb, but i have tried twice and it stopped at 128 mb. I will try again..but maybe you can check it yourself and reupload if necessary?
I think your download might be corrupted. I also had the same problem with the second part, stopped at 148mb for me, the first time but when I redownloaded it again it worked fine.

I think I'd probably go for Katawa, Lilly's route. Extremely few VN's have had that sort of calming emotional slide that that one gave me.
(also I'm in the Dec 20 club, but I still think the end of the world thing is kinda silly)
Same here on both points. Its not quite midnight here but out of nowhere we had this big storm that just rolled in about 5 minutes ago. Kinda creepy lol

Oh really? I've seen not much info about persona 5, they just give "we are on the development" sort of commentary every time a persona related game has been published (p4a and p4g to be exact). Colors need to be something that attracts the public in fact.. Going to deep into the meaning is not my sort of thing, but I can see your concern.. Just don't worry about the little details, the game will be awesome

yeah I just found it. It was a speculative article and not the real thing from what I can tell offhand. Darn, would be awesome if they actually did something along these lines though. lol

I read an article somewhere that persona 5's color scheme was going to be black and white as opposed to P3's blue and P4's yellow. I really wish I could find the article, in it the author talked about how this could signify P5 revolving around the idea of law and order because black can signify evil and villainy and white can signify purity and ethics. This seemed to me to indicate that the MC could be struggling with himself/herself and throughout the game the player will have to deal with this. Since in P4 the other characters had to deal with this sort of issue to get their personas it would not be that big a stretch for the creators to dig deeper into this concept.

yeah I know exactly what you mean with that. I loved the knew additions to the game but the P4 golden opening was the only thing I thought was a little off. Not a bad song just not very "persona like" in my opinion.

I hope they flesh out the dungeons even more. I really liked how in 4 they made the dungeons and the bosses tied to what was going on with the characters in their minds. Hopefully they will flesh that out even further with 5. Can't wait to hear some of the music for the game as well, P3 and P4 had epic soundtracks.

I know that this is still a ways in the future but talking about what we would like to see in the game can still be a good way to let off the stress of having to wait.
Considering the additions done for P4 Golden I am thinking that this game is going to be freaking awesome personally.

OMG OneManArmy! You have not truly lived until you read through Ever 17's true ending! jkjk:) It messed me up for the rest of the day after I read it, all I could think was WTF everything I thought I knew was blown out the window in less than a few hours!
