Actually there was a translation project for the game but after releasing a partial translation patch the group disappeared all of the sudden. I always was interested in the game but unlike you I don't think it'll get ever translated because it's an old game, it's fucking long and it doesn't have a happy storyline. That's why I decided to watch the anime instead because I heard it's one of the few good adaptions.

And I do remember some Kiminozo characters that appeared in Alternative as well although I've no idea why they are there. Most likely they were too lazy to come up with new characters haha.
