  1. Games on EG are usually held to a very high standard. However, I'm not sure if Ivan missed this one or didn't check it, because this game is basically a MTL.

    ...just to name a few.

  2. Gonna post this since it is a problem in newer versions of Windows and some might need help on it.

The issue with lagging Win8/Win10 is common and me and Pasa didn't find any good fix. But, I messed around a bit and was able to find out a way to remove the lag, though it comes with restrictions.

(I tested this with Windows 10 and with GA in windowed mode)

    You now have three options:

    1. Most commonly, people just set up a Virtual Machine and play the game on an older version of Windows (usually 7 and earlier). Game should work like normal.

    2. The next workaround is whenever the lag happen, click anywhere outside of the game. After the scene is over, resume clicking in the game. This has a setback: you have to do it every scene it lags, and that means doing it almost constantly.

    3. This is the best workaround I found. When the game loaded you will see the main menu. Follow these steps:

    - (You might hear music and a white screen. That is the menu transition being laggy. Use Method 2 above to bypass the lag. Do this everytime a transition lag on you.)

    - Click on Settings.

    - In Video Option, change "32 bit" and "High" to "16 bit" and "Low". I have tested this with Game and Sound Option, but they don't produce the same result, so don't touch those.

    - Click Save Changes (the transition will lags, follow the first step to clear it).

    - You should now see the main menu again, but it's in Japanese. Click on the button that was Setting when it was in English. You should notice that the transition doesn't lag anymore.

    - Change the Video Option back to "32 bit" and "High". Click Save Changes.

    - The menu will turn back to English.

Now, the game transitions and scenes should be normal and won't lag anymore. This has a setback however: You cannot click anywhere else outside of the game for the duration of you playing it. The moment you click anywhere outside of the game window, the moment everything lags again.

That is just a trick I found that people haven't mention before. I think it will be good for people who don't wanna deal with making a Virtual Machine or people who will just play it in one sitting.

Unfortunately I still don't know what is the technical issue behind this, so I am of no help with providing anything else useful : \

But I do hope you find this helpful enough :D

    Have fun~

  3. Thank you Ray, that allows me to run the game now : D

For any people with the same problem: Seems like doing it once is enough, the next time you run it it from the normal shortcut/file should be fine.

Got this error though, but then again all that matter is the game running lol

  4. Thank you for responding and bringing the subject up again.

I retried just now and somehow things went smoother this time - I was able to install the game then the English patch. I followed your post about the no-CD crack, so I am thankful for posting it! I do have an error message like this everytime I try playing the game:

Don't really understand what it said, but the game still load after I clicked OK.

    Thanks again for the help~

  5. So I was trying to install this game when I got this error

Don't know how to solve this. Also it might be because some files are missing from the original download. And yes I did completely/fully download it. I have the PlanetarianRetail file, the KINECTICDATA folder from the voice patch, and a Crack folder with only a "planetarian" application, which gives me the above error message when ran. Because of this error I can't run the Japanese installer - it makes me abort it halfway.

(I did put the KINETICDATA folder in the Planetarian path too and try running that crack .exe. Still won't work)

  6. Anyone got a different English patch for this game? The one provided apparently can't run on my system, and I redownloaded it just to make sure but still get the same error

Using Windows 10 64-bit with Japanese locale on.

    Thanks in advance!

  7. Well that shouldn't be the main problem since I've always been able to run Ever17 on Windows 7.

Check this thread: [sOLVED] Ever 17 on Windows 8.1? - Voluntary Tech Support - Fuwanovel They're talking about Windows 8.1, but maybe you have the same problem anyway. Try this .exe file that they posted on there: goo.gl/mFdncf (I just tried it myself and it works fine)

Oh thank you so much! Can finally get this game to run on Win 8.1 :D

  8. Can anyone help me with the issue of not able to run the game in Windows 7 and later? Every time I did, it keeps popping up "Ever17 has stopped working" and the only choice is to close it. Tried running in different compatibility modes but doesn't work either (do they ever solve anything?) So anyone got any ideas?

  9. I downloaded this on a Windows 8.1 PC and went to mounted the game, but when I run the installation it seemed like all the characters are turned into sybols, and I can't proceed to install sinc eit does the same thing to the installation path. Any ideas?
