Some VNs focus on story, some on gameplay. For those of you who just want to experience the story without worrying about losing battles and having to start over, there are cheats. This is a list of a few cheats, using either CheatEngine or SpoilerAL. I have made a couple of these myself, and found others from the web (and theirs are much better than mine :D).

Note: These require a basic knowledge of Cheat engine to work.

Kamidori:

Note: You need SpoilerAL to use this, refer to this guide for general knowledge of the program.

[spoiler=guide]Put the .SSG files in the SSG folder, such as "..\spal61\SpoilerAL\SSG"

Start both age.exe (Kamidori) and SpoilerAL

Sort the SSGs by the 4th drop-down box

Find AGE.EXE, and click on it

Open one of the two SSGs

  1. Simply named "Kamidori Alchemy Meister", which is the item editor
  2. This one has a japanese name, but hover over the other names, until you see "File: KAMT2_1.ssg". This is the character editor, with additional options.

To edit a value, locate it, click on it, and use the calculator on the right hand side. If one of the buttons says "16", click it so it becomes "10" (unless you like hexadecimal values)

If you are adding items, if you have not received that item on your current playthough, be sure to change the "found flag" to 1

  • I will be occasionally making more Cheat Tables, but don't count on it. If you find a cheat table that isn't on here, post in the comments or PM me and I'll see about adding it to this list.
  • I have a KINGDOM cheat table, but it's not working on my laptop. As soon as I find a way to start the game up I can upload it here.
  • [spoiler=CTs needed]
    • Daibanchou -Big Bang Age- (english)
    • Eien no Aselia – Kono Daichi no Hate de
    • Kingdom
    • Koihime Musou - I've found it ridiculously easy to find addresses, but insanely hard to find pointers.
    • Brave Soul
    • Little Busters! (baseball mini-game, fighting)
    • Pretty Soldier Wars A.D. 2048
    • Utawarerumono
    • Tears to Tiara

I never understood the appeal of "all items" or "max lvl" cheats. I only like those where your character will get an oversized head or something alike.

The idea is that people can skip gameplay or make it easier so they don't have to focus on it - they just want to focus on the story.

If for example, there's a fight you can't get past, and thus can't proceed with the story, you can use cheats to get past that part.

Also, here's a commercial : http://www.wegame.com/watch/Hax_A_Solution_2/

Normally on my first play through of a game I don't use anything.

But after I beat it the first time I use walkthroughs and Cheat engine.

Sengoku Rance is a great example of when to use cheats. I don't have much free time so I cant spend 2 weeks fighting trying to get all of the story. So after my first play through I use cheats to see the rest

But most games don't I even need cheats or walkthroughs because of limited choices or small amounts of Fighting.
