Not many updates this week. Period out on the 15th and Never7 out on the 17th should be nice. Other than that, yah progress.

EDIT: The new VN that got picked up looks a bit interesting, I guess. Hopefully they actually release something instead of fading out.

Well I dont think JAST USA suck at planning and execution, We have School Days HQ and My girlfriend is the President to prove that, Both of them are good games. And that are thanks to JAST USA for their work to translate these games in english.

do you even know the meaning of Planning and execution???

if you don't... here... an easy description...

You make a plan, you follow it exactly as it is...

they make plans... they delay or cancel it...

wow... what greatness when it comes to Planning and execution...

Well mabey is a reason for at they delay or cancel it, They can delay or cancel it because of work, school or other thing, Or at they are tired, Have you think about that? I know at JAST USA must have a reason for to delay or cancel it.

I'm hate JAST USA with my very soul too, but I'm going to be imparcial here:

1- The difference between JAST and MangaGamer is that MG bieng already a subsidiary of four big japanese companies and their sub-lavels, they have an full array of games ready to be translated with the approval of the companies, JAST do not have this luxury, when they approach the companies this is what happens:

They approach them, explaining their knowledge of the U.S. market and what they can do for them, allowing their game to be legitimately played by fans all over the world.

It usually comes down to the personality of the president of the company. If he’s an outgoing person who wants to see lots of people play his games, that’s usually all it takes. Companies that are afraid of any possible downside will usually not consider their proposals.

Even their partner Nitroplus being hugely successful company in Japan is also a very cautious one. They would basically like them to publish a title, wait two years to see how the sales are, then decide the next title to publish. Hence why they take so long.

2- Remember that japanese companies live in their little bubble of horseshit. They totally focus on their current project and only pay attention to JAST when they don't have anything better to do. So even if JAST has the full translation and editing done, they can't just release the game because the company has to give their OK since they have more rights over the game than JAST.

3- I can't really complain about JAST selection of games, even if they take eons to release a VN, I enjoyed all of their games exept for School Days HQ. I really hope MangaGamer in some years can also release good deep storyline oriented games instead of the flow of nukiges we are having now.

4- What really keeps JAST on their feet are not the VNs but J-List, you guys will be amazed how much anime junk people waste their their money on, like bento boxes, super-moe action figures (KamFag: WHERE!?!?!?!?!) and shit.

5- What I really DON'T like is them picking up fan projects instead of finding new ones for themselves, if they didn't got their claws on Seinarukana, Dakkodango Translations would have already finished it a long time ago, same thing with Saya no Uta and Hanachirasu, they should leave fans with their work and find new titles on their own.

So I can't be really mean to them, they had their own share of crap in the business, besides, it's not like we are all going to die if we don't play Yumina or Seinarukana right now, I'm focusing more on PC Games so I barealy read VNs at the moment, I can wait a little more =P.

Seriously guys that whas mean and harsh, Critiser others is bad thing you know, Poor JAST USA so be critiser to people when they are trying their best to translate games in english and they so fixet a update patch for School days HQ for there, A litte bit thank you for JAST USA so make a Update patch whould not hurt.

See, that is the problem. They are 'trying', but a lot of their business practices are not very well thought out. Also, wow... they released a SDHQ patch for issues that shouldn't have made it into the release in the first place. That is what testing is for in the first place. There are other titles out there that still haven't been patched for problems and it us up to others to figure out ways to correct them. Now, this is why we can criticize some of JAST's practices. While the games they bring over are good, the way they go about bringing them over aren't that great. It also hurts their reputation when we receive these LONG delays for release titles. Yep, we are at the whim of the Japanese company, but look at whose image it tarnishes when games go a long time before they are released after an announcement. The Japanese company might take some blame, but JAST will receive the full brunt of the anger at it.

Then their is the issue that some people take with JAST making a quick buck by picking up nearly completed fans-translated titles. And the delay that comes with a nearly finished fans-translation before it is released into the market. We can praise them for some things, but criticism is due where it is due. If it's harsh, well, some people are genuinely angry at JAST for some things they have done. Praise is due where praise is due, just like criticism.

Are you a JAST employee or something? Wow, a fix patch, a fix for bugs that shouldn't be there.....there's something called Quality Control you know, besides, they don't translate shit, they have TLwiki for that or any other translator stupid enough to give them his work to be stalled forever.

Can't agree with this, vndb description sounds rather boring. Oh well, I'll play it anyway.

Yeah, I guess that's what I was trying to say haha. I'm not too picky as long as it isn't a nukige.

And as far as JAST is concerned, other people pretty much hit the nail on the head. They buy up these fan translations and sit on them for a couple of years doing nothing. An example is Sumaga. They bought it in the middle of 2009 when it was around 80% done. They haven't made any significant progress since then.
