Gerard the Lone Wolf 10
Do you think i'm saying "Let's allow children playing eroge" , here ? I'm talking about an age limit to stop enjoy things you appreciate. Thought that was obvious. Well, looks like I've misunderstood your post. I'm sorry. desi 53
Gabezhul (a very active admin and writer on vndb) I agree, Katawa Shoujo could be a turning point for VNs. I wouldn't speak about "mainstream", but at least VNs could be less freaky in some time. Minor correction: He's a mod, not an admin.. but who cares? Also, I sort disagree with the sentiment that KS could be a turning point. Sure, it brought in more people to the visual novel world.. but I believe outside of Japan, eroges will never be that popular.
Crimson Moon 10
Well, looks like I've misunderstood your post. I'm sorry. (T_T) It's allright i'm part guilty if i weren't clear. Edited September 4, 2012 by Crimson Moon
Kyokuza 10
I share the same sentiment. There's a lot of example where things got fuck up and ruined once they have wider and bigger audience. "fucked up and ruined" I can see that.. one clearly...
Shiro Midori 10
Minor correction: He's a mod, not an admin.. but who cares? Also, I sort disagree with the sentiment that KS could be a turning point. Sure, it brought in more people to the visual novel world.. but I believe outside of Japan, eroges will never be that popular. I agree with you there. KS was my first eroges and VN, and I only played it because my friends kept telling me to check it out. I went crazy over it and it really changed my life. But there were definitely points where I thought to myself, "Someone could be turned off of VNs from this," even though it was a perfect game. That's just the genre, unfortunately. Sure, you could have some that get insanely popular just like anime had in Pokemon, DBZ, Yugioh, etc., but it feels like this generation doesn't want to sit and read for hours on end. Gerard the Lone Wolf 10
It's allright i'm part guilty if i weren't clear. It's just that when you mentioned that there's no such thing as "age limit", I immediately relate it with 18+ being an age limit. -_-" I should've ask for an explanation first instead of jumping into conclusion like that. I'm really sorry. (╥_╥)
OneManArmy 82
it feels like this generation doesn't want to sit and read for hours on end. Sitting for hours isn't a problem but visual novels are for most people just way too boring. They want to kill zombies and stuff.
udizzle 11
but it feels like this generation doesn't want to sit and read for hours on end. I use to read alot when i was kid but when i got older i stopped reading alot but thanks to VN's this sensation of immersing yourself in another world is back and here to stay! and as for the kiddies today thats there fault for not enjoying what we enjoy, let them enjoy their crap Edited September 4, 2012 by udizzle
Shiro Midori 10
Thats there fault for not enjoying what we enjoy, let them enjoy their crap I was trying to explain why VNs are unlikely to become massively popular. Although, if someone made a Twilight VN... dear god I doomed us all.

Gerard the Lone Wolf 10
Although, if someone made a Twilight VN...dear god I doomed us all. What the...?? What an abomination! This is what happen if it goes to the mainstream where Grandpa GagGag, Bieber, and Twilight is running rampant. I shall pray to the Eroge God and ask him to prevent it. Also, I would rather play a nukige a hundred times than touching a Twilight VN even once. Edited September 4, 2012 by Gerard the Lone Wolf

I share the same sentiment. There's a lot of example where things got fuck up and ruined once they have wider and bigger audience. i can see that happening in my country =.= , but of cos i rather it not happen... Sitting for hours isn't a problem but visual novels are for most people just way too boring. They want to kill zombies and stuff. I agree with this , i once share a VN ( Deardrops ) , with my friend and all he ever replied to me was , why is it only pictures and why is it so boring and stuff. I personally love VNs and that comment was abit shocking to me at first , then i realised that not everyone can appreciate it as i can :/ And not only did i introduced it to one person , i tried again with 2 other people , but same results ,i guess they really rather " kill zombies and stuff"

Break 10
this is the first community i have found that is devouted to VNs i dont think i will find one in my country so there isnt a point in trying to look we have 1 expo in each of the major cities here each year most of it is based around anime, card games and sci-fi its mostly full of kids so no point even bothering to check there for other like minded people

Many of my buddy's,family's started calling me a 'kid' .. and yea i hate that so here i am only buying merchandise online (The anime one's of course) and more important i don't have to spent money's on VN cuz this site provided a good VN updating weekly and yea good community. skyshadow402 10
While VNs are so much more than Just "Anime Porn" the mass of normal people will just see it as such. I mean hell I finally yelled loud enough (shame is a weakness) that I found the hardcore anime group close to me. Though most are just casual. And within that group ive been able to spread VN love to 2 people. different strokes for different folks. with the meme of "all anime is tentacle porn" and most people wanting to shoot things more than sit down and read a story there will be many different opinions of the subject of VNs. Personally i just say: love what you love and if people think youre weird for it than so be it, cuz remember it's not those people you gotta look at in the mirror every day. as long as yer honest with yerself then you'll eventually find like minded people that share the same interest as you. And what's most important is to be IMO is that you can be honest with yourself and others at all times. And no one should be ashamed of being honest.
