So, I'm working on a visual novel called Golden Roses. It's still not near finished, but I'm working on getting a demo out by summer of 2013. Keep in mind I haven't completely fleshed out the story or characters and I'm totally open to suggestion. It's your standard "player character moves to his hometown and finds a girlfriend" story. You play as a 3rd year student named Tarou Ikeda who has moved back to his unnamed hometown with his widowed father after he gets married to his divorced high school sweetheart (who happens to have a daughter the same age as Tarou). He's enrolled at Golden Rose Academy, the private high school that his father and step mother went to. There are 10 different girls to choose from in this game, all of which have their own personalities and stories. A) Ichikawa Yuria - The tomboy, who loves to play baseball. She has to play on the boy's team since there is no girl's team. She dreams of moving to America to play in the big leagues. B) Fukusawa Megumi - School idol, student coucil president. very ladylike and demure. but she's not who everyone thinks she is. C) Yamada Tomoko - A secret otaku. She loves anime and video games, but due to the stigma attached to the culture, she tries her best to hide it. D) Hayagawa Chisami - A shy, troubled girl. She cries easily and is very unapproachable. spends most of her time in the library; she loves to read. E) Iwata Ruriko - The class rep and twin sister of Tarou's best friend, Fujio. She's a bit bossy and demanding, but means well. She's a childhood friend. F) Nakashima Yumi - the manic pixie dream girl. a bit ditzy and clumsy, but very friendly and outgoing. willing to try anything. but she hides a tragic secret... G) Kudou Sumie - Yandere. Seems sweet and shy on the outside, but if someone gets between her and what she wants, she can be deadly. Warning: paying her too much attention will trigger her route and if you try to go after another girl after that, you may not like the results... H) Okamura Hanako - A quiet, spacey girl. She loves nature, especially flora. She works in a flower shop. She prefers potted plants to clipped flowers, as clipped plants will die. She's constantly fighting with her parents about her future. I) Kamitani Kyoumi - A rebel and punk. She smokes and spends most of her time on the roof or anywhere she can be alone. She keeps to herself and is difficult to get to know. But there's a reason she's like this... J) Nemoto Shizuru - Tarou's step-sister. a classic tsundere. JUST TO REITERATE, THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR YUELA'S ROUTE. okay, so I'm on Yuela's route, and (I think it happens in all the routes, but I have no idea yet) Disnafrody is attacking Yuidora after Wil becomes Lord. So, everyone in Yuidora is freaking out because the Zof and Tokiya armies combined are much bigger than Yuidora's group of alchemists and they don't have any other countries to ask for help. But wait, aren't they forgetting something? Wil's built up a connection with pretty much every race in the country. they have two angels (complete with their own armies; especially Elizasleyn's, which threatened Yuidora in the past with its strength). okay, so maybe Elizasleyn may not help since she's not really supportive of Yuidora. But what about the others? Kohakuren is the leader of the Saerev in the area, they pretty much do what she says. And Gaptahl is a fucking dragon who has a peace treaty with Yuidora. you'd think maybe they could negotiate a dragon army in exchange for some sort of special treatment (not that Yuidora has much for the dragons, but hey, Wil could probably think of something.) Wil is also very good friends with Serawi, who could enlist the help of the elves (unless there's something that keeps her from the other elves, I haven't done her route yes) Am I the only one who was bothered by this? It was such an obvious solution!

that's what I did in my first play through. I chose to get close to Yuela, rejected Serawi, and didn't do anything with Emelita, yet still got Emelita's route. I still got all the measuring events, but that was just to make the armour, so it couldn't be helped.

okay, I restarted my game and I just got to the Chisel part. the scorched battlegrounds won't show up unless I get his chisel first. :/ and I have Melodiana as a guest and Uya as a party member. I'm scared I'll get stuck back on Emelita's route.

I got stuck on Emelita's route I think. I'm in chapter 4 and I'm taking her to the Prayer Grounds. I was trying to get Yuela's route though. I got the event where you wath her train (and chose you want to be more than friends) and got the measuring event with her as well as Servalwi. When I got Servalwi's event (asking for help or something) I rejected her. So, I should be on Yuela's route, right? but I'm pretty sure I'm on Emelita's. Did I miss something for Yuela?

Okay, so I finally got Kamidori Alchemy Meister to work on my PC (I had installed the patches wrong the first time, then I didn't restart my computer after changing locales) now, everything runs fine, but there's no sound. The opening bits have sound, but when it gets to the main menu, it's totally silent. Any help? EDIT: Nevermind! I reinstalled the game and now everything works.

Sengoku Rance. when you go to the Miko Institute, you can sleep with a Miko. this one is Kuma. I don't know how many others there are.
