It's the same setting and basically same characters (aside from the main). It's like the story being told from a different perspective and some untold stories from the original MLA.

But at least he wasn't a wuss. And the story is a pretty good mindfuck as well. That's why I love it. xD

Apparently some people didn't like it. I've been telling my friend to read it dozens of times. He said he doesn't like it because the main character kinda sucks. =/ I like Cross Channel though.

Graphics also played a quite significant role for me. For an example, I can't get myself to play Umineko without the PS3 graphic patch because the arts is kinda repulsive to me (I know it's a sound novel and it has a good story). And people who spewing out spoilers everywhere I go in the forum (animetake) doesn't help either.

lol, you've missed on Ciel's good ending (seriously the most satisfying ending) and also Akiha's true ending (the best ending in Tsukihime IMO). xD

Story and character. I would say all four of them but those two that I've mentioned is the most important for me.

You won't be disappointed with Ever17. As for me, I'm resuming Little Busters! after I stalled it due to exams. And I have to clear a hatful of backlogs of VN (there's 5-6 titles which I haven't touched yet ever since I finished downloading it.)
