  1. Done with KxKxK, finally. Gave it a 6.5/10. They should have named this game "Ice cream x Ice cream x Ice cream" because there is 1 "central ice cream route" and 1 shorter route. In other words, the core story is the same for all the 3 sisters (including the harem route), just different h-scenes. The characters were fun and Mafuyu is epic, but the whole structure is just lame. Also, way too many h-scenes, but maybe that's not a minus for some. Fandisc next, but I doubt it'll be any better.

    Edit:

Fandisc 5.5/10. Mostly pointless with a fair share of nonsense at times. Only 1 route had some interesting "story" if you can call it that, other routes were kind of boring. A random parody character showing up was the highlight of the whole thing, go figure.

  2. Of course every character is intended (unless the author used a random generator to write).

On the actual topic: everybody is free to dislike characters and their defining tropes. You should just be aware that they are not "bad" in the sense of badly written, only in the sense of "I don't like them" if you happen to not enjoy their concepts and the author's intention. In this regard Heart de Roommate actually does a lot things right (especially the emotionless girl in the middle).

I don't see the point in your explanation to be honest. By going with the "It's not like the author fucked it up by accidentally forgeting his guns and superpowers. He is supposed to be a spineless wuss." logic, all of the characters are written as intended. I compared his "suckness" to that School Days MC. Maybe you're implying that the School Days MC "happened by accident" and he was not supposed to turn out like that?

It doesn't make much difference in any case, the MC sucks no matter if it's intended or someone was holding the writer at gunpoint forcing him to write a character that like. Ah, one more thing. There's also this thing called opinion, but that's for another post. :>

  4. It's nice to finally get a confirmation from MG about this, which also means that I will be eating my words :>. In the end, I guess MG is just trying to find a cheaper way to go about this project. The problem I'm seeing is in the " the translation quality doesn't cut it, we're not interested and we will tell any fan-translation group that they need to go back and redo it if they're still serious about seeing whatever project they're working on get an official release.". While that's a obvious thing to say, the problem comes at the point where you can't release the translation of this game on your own as a fanTL -in case of the TL being rejected by MG- because you can't deal with the technical stuff on your own. Hopefully that won't happen, but it would be a real shame to spend a fuckton of time just to get a "your TL sucks". After that, I doubt anyone would be insane enough to go back and redo the TL and this already huge script.

  5. Error - "An error occurred during the data decompression.". First time I see this error from hoshizora. If it was the patch, then it would just mean that the installer can't extract the files, but no clue what would cause the game to throw a decompression error. The possible causes could just be corrupted files or you don't have some permissions on your Windows Account. You could try downloading everything again, patches, game, etc. Also make sure that your Windows Account doesn't have any odd letters (é, â, etc.). These suggestions are kind of a long shot, but I guess it's worth a try.
