Tomoyo After - It's a Wonderful Life

  • Language: English

Tomoyo After's story revolves around Okazaki Tomoya and Sakagami Tomoyo. Tomoya has graduated from high school and is now employed as a garbage collector. He and Tomoyo are now seeing each other in a romantic relationship, though Tomoya lives alone in his apartment. One day it is discovered that Tomoyo has a younger half-sister named Mishima Tomo who had been living with her mother, but was recently abandoned. It is eventually decided that Tomo will live in Tomoya's apartment for the time being.

Beside the Adventure part that makes most of the game, Tomoyo After also has RPG elements. In order to complete the game entirely, the player must finish eight of the mini RPGs games called "Dungeons & Takafumis" which are available during certain scenarios as the player continues to play the game.

I heard the translators were making good progress getting this VN finished..... they haven't given updates to the percentage of completion because they want to leave it as a surprise but i'm pretty optimistic it'll get done fairly soon.

I'm optimistic as well. Doki Fansub is not the fastest group ever, but at least they are actively translating it.

I already finished the game and it was damn awesome, well at least the ending. There were some parts which were a little boring though.

I'm very thankful that they decided to translate the normal version of this game because the memorial one sucks pretty hard. Why? They

changed that awesome ending and added some unecessary lines; yeah I played it too so I know that I'm talking about.

All in all, look foward to the translation even if you aren't a tomoyo fan.

Ah i see.. are the endings the only major thing different between the two versions or are there other things different as well?

They also removed the sex scenes which only appeared at the very beginning of the game anyway.

Really the H-scenes was over used reguardless in my eyes. Not that i had any problem with them and all, just semt like it throw them out there for no reason, i'd rather purpose be given to them, or atleast timing.

Either way i only played part of the translation patch last year, decided to wait for the full translation, the game was ok where i played to, as said above it does have its boring parts though.

Well there are only three h's at the beginning and one at the end, that's all, not a big pain in the ass if you ask me. The visual novel is indeed sometime a little bit boring but at least still interesting. But yeah, it's definitely all about the ending, I didn't like the other stories that much.

just out of curiosity, which version is this V/N? the one with ergo or not?

thanks in advance

Doki is translating the original version (Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~ - First Press Limited Edition). It's 18+ and contains h-scenes.

anybody have an idea how far was the progress now??

No idea, like desi said, they don't give us any updates. Well the last patch translated something like 30% of the game so they should be currently around 50-80%.

still believe Tomoyo's route is the best in Clannad, second being Kyon's

Nah, nagisa's route's clearly the best but I didn't like her as a character.

Doki kinda went from scratch, they used some of the stuff from the 30 % partial, not a lot though.

i just like the after story..

i mean..

i fed up with nagisa and her weak/unsocialable character...

mno offence to their daughter...

but i feel tomoyo are decently cute and loveable...

i mean how many people in the world can put up a tugh side when they have their shock of their life...

futuremore..to make her route sweet

the ending nearly killed me with all her words...

i cried he most on her ending...suprisingly more than after story(excluding the anime)

Dunno what's wrong, I hadn't any problems with the tomoyo after. Question, did you install the game while using japanese local? Could be the reason, or just uninstall directx and install it again. It's windows after all.

    • "The human heart is but a vessel for pain."

That's what someone once whispered―a voice laced with loneliness, whispering directly into the soul. It's an indescribable sadness, a love just beginning to bloom. It becomes an invisible pain that pierces the heart. And that's what makes up life: a cyclical series of highs and lows.

Tachibana Sai was born without the ability to feel pain in his heart. He spends his days eliminating any seeds of malice that sneak up on his sister, the one person he treasures, without drawing attention to himself.

Sick of the never-ending monotony he lives through, he chances upon a meeting with Benio Matsuri, a young girl whose aloof demeanor resembles that of a beautifully crafted doll.

For the first time in his life, he encounters a heart-piercing sensation―that of falling in love.

On the edge between day and night, in a twilight world where the dead and living mingle, stands an apartment building called Maison sans Nom, which is home to a group of boys and girls.

A ruthless boy who knows no pain in his heart.
A lonely girl without any friends.
A friendly girl who struggles to make connections.
A prickly, ambitious girl who is keen to be of help.
A boy who loves his own cute self above anything else.
A mess of a woman who tries to solve everything through brute force.
And a boy with a tender heart who knows no pain in his body.

This ill-assorted group of residents, hands stained with blood from battling the supernatural Maledicts, shall encounter the hearts they never knew and begin nurturing their souls.

The human heart is but a vessel for pain.

To protect this pain akin to love... To gently break the world apart, piece by piece... Even if it means abandoning humanity. That's why the heart is but a vessel for pain.

For life blazes brilliantly, while the heart goes around in an endless cycle.

    • In a future over one hundred years hence...

All the people in the world have awakened to unique abilities called 'Dunamis'. As these special powers become rooted in people's everyday lives, their value system changes, and those who lack powers are the ones who are treated as strange. With the passing of the ages, the environment has changed completely, while society has greatly regressed. The overall population of mankind has diminished as well, and most of the world is made up of wastelands and greenery dotted with the weathered ruins of the world before.

      The City of Raillore.

With brickwork buildings like those of the Middle Ages, developed over land graced with lush greenery and rivers. With the concept of nations gone from the world, Raillore exists as something of a self-sufficient commune. The Order of Security and Regulatory Knights - AKA the Regulatory Corps - serves as a government organization in charge of handling crime prevention and other tasks that require force of arms.

But things begin to change as odd incidents take place, one after another...

Those possessing abilities different from those of Dunamis begin to appear. The people fear this power and the phenomena it causes, and those capable of it are designated as ‘Errors’. The sudden appearance of these Errors is regarded as a disease, and the handling of Errors is placed under the jurisdiction of the Regulatory Corps. As people tremble in fear of the vicissitudes of the changing times, there are those who try to open a way to the future with their own strength...
