Rewrite

  • Language: English

Rewrite is set in the fictional city Kazamatsuri where treeplanting and afforestation have caused the city to become overgrown with trees and flowers in much the same way that other cities are filled by buildings. However, while most of the city appears to be rural, there are many traditional city elements as well. While set in a modern setting, the city also gives off a strange sense of nostalgia. The basis of the story is set in a high school setting. The first half of Rewrite primarily consists of the characters interacting in many everyday, enjoyable scenes. The latter half, however, is more serious, emotional, and carries a sense of mystery to the plot.

The protagonist of Rewrite is really funny. That is a new refreshment coming from Key(all of previous Key MCs are serious guy).

he is also offensive, one of the rare property of VN protagonist.I ROFLed at the scene where he said "I love you Kotori whereas himself was trembling from fear

I don't get the obsession people have with Key Games. I mean, you start out with your basic cliche good guy protagonist who helps everyone, then you make him fall in love.

I am pretty sure who are talking about anime version . I think you need to watch more visual novel-adaptation anime KID.That kind of anime always have MC helping other girls because that is how u adapted visual novel.

now let's kill off his kind wife and make him struggle for 5 years before coming to terms with his daughter.

That is how u watch a sad anime. You never watched any sad anime/movie/drama in your life ? The aim of them is to make the viewers feel sad so it is normal for people to die in that anime. If u don't like sad anime then DON'T WATCH IT FROM THE START.

Now that he's getting back to normal and raising his daughter, let's kill off the little girl too. Now that's good clean entertainment. I wanted to die after watching that.

Remember KID.The aim is to make u feel sad.If u want to die, then jump from the building and dies.

It just didn't give me a warm feeling like it gives everyone else.

Well, that is where your mind and heart is twisted.

Air was the same fun filled path of pure misery. IT just made me feel horrible to see that girl in Air suffer so much before finally dying!

Haaa,same story.

Basically,u are just complaining because u don't feel sad after watching clannad and air and that's because u don't have heart.Just watch happy-lovey anime like pokemon, digimon or doreamon and be gone.

And WTF u post disussion about clannad and air in REWRITE THREAD. ARE U BLIND ? THERE ARE THREADS FOR BOTH CLANNAD AND AIR.

LoL~~. Gerard,my brain autoconverts "kill his wife" part to Clannad.

Also just my personal thought but are there really people who haven't watched or played Clannad on this site ?

Unless you didn't count me as "people", then yes, every human in this site has watched or played clannad.

    • Toono Yuu, a Kazami Academy sophomore, eschews typical teen life for work――

"Youth? No time. I've got jobs."

Yuu's all about practicality, choosing part-time jobs over typical teenage fun. He manages his studies well and spends most of his time working for money. His childhood friend Hibiki and classmate Riri, who looks up to Yu, think he needs a change. They each try to get him to join a club.

Hibiki champions the "Action Club," nicknamed "Acti-Club"―― lively girls promoting "more youthful fun at school!"
Riri advocates the "Volunteer Club," nicknamed "Negati-Club"―― serious girls dedicated to "using youth to better the world."

      Both relentlessly recruit Yuu――

      "Not interested. Don't need youth."

Yet Yuu finds himself drawn into their world, despite his protests――
His predictable routine gives way to unexpected experiences.
      How did this happen?

"Isn't it obvious?" his peers suggest.
"Brace yourself, senpai. Time to embrace your youth!"

What adventures await this reluctant teen!?
    • I became the mayor after my father passed away. As the unlikable ‘Magic Trash,’ I used high-level props and awakened the magic circle! Unexpectedly, a frightened girl in her tattered clothes—Liz had appeared... No way, no! Did my guardian beast just get blocked by a girl like that?

As a demon under my control, Liz always looked arrogant as she kept competing against me. There must be one who wins and one who loses, even if it is by doing naughty things. But sometimes... she would also smile gently and speak of her loneliness, just like... the harshness was her defense so that no one could enter her heart.

As the thorns enveloping her sprouted new shoots, the city became more and more prosperous, but strange things also emerged bit by bit. The [Withering Flower] curse was gnawing her soul and somehow also affected me!
    • When campus nobody Seiji is attacked by unhinged space demons, it’s his classroom crush Yuuri who shows up to save the day! Her magical-girl powers easily vanquish the enemy, but a surprise ambush forces her to dive in harm’s way to shield him—leaving both fatally wounded. Luckily, Miss Fujiko arrives on the scene with an enchanted thread to bind both their life forces, saving them from certain death.

Over the next three months as Seiji and Yuuri slowly recover, the pair are on doctor’s orders to stay within one meter of each other or risk snapping their “red string of fate.” This means shacking up together and pretending to be a couple to avoid their classmates’ suspicions, but despite the clueless Yuuri claiming to be a “one-woman fortress with zero openings,” her natural powers of seduction quickly result in awkward situations that test poor Seiji’s sanity and self-control...

With his dream girl only centimeters away at every waking moment, will Seiji finally summon the courage to shoot his shot?
    • Kyoichi Akikawa lost his family in a devastating plane crash when he was just a child.

      "Will it really come someday?"
"Will the day ever come when I can truly move on from this pain?"

Kyoichi's stepsister Shizuku Akikawa has supported him all this time, while Yukitsuki Asaka bears a striking resemblance to Kyoichi's beloved older sister from before the tragedy.

As the paths of these three fated individuals converge, a mechanical god appears...

This is a story that heads towards the future.
    • Average joe Seiji encounters another magical-girl wonderkid—this time in the form of the mysterious Maja Krienke at his neighborhood park! Intrigued by her aloof charm and possible hidden motive, he tries to say something, when a Majin appears out of nowhere to reveal Maja’s true identity—a ruthless warrioress in cahoots with evil in exchange for the darker arts...

Stunned, Seiji agrees to serve as Maja’s familiar—or “satellite”—to aid them in taking down another, rival Majin’s demon hordes. He also stands to gain an impressive array of powers, but as a trade-off, he is now tightly bound to Maja by a magical tether, connecting him to her around the clock! As fate would have it, this rope is essential for Seiji to receive a steady supply of magical force—or risk his new satellite body collapsing in the mortal realm.

Forced into cohabitation with the lovely Maja effective immediately, he soon learns of her “unique” blindspots—for better or worse, her guard stays perpetually down around our loyal but increasingly frustrated hero, resulting in plenty of questionable close calls and near-accidents... Will an unlikely summer shack-up stir up something else between them, or will Seiji forever remain her indentured servant?
