Some guy 16
Unexpected surprise with the YNS update, glad to see it's stil kicking. Is it me or did that Jast update seem to lack a few titles? Ah well, I'm starting to think it's just one or two people running a business out of their house, rather then a major company. Nothing wrong with that, mind you - just forces me to re-evaluate my perceptions regarding businesses.
JCAll 13
Oh crap, I forgot about Bunny Black. I need to finish that if the second is on the way.

Some guy 16
hello guys, I just found out at Mangagamer are translating Himawari. here it's link for the game https://vndb.org/v210 I wonder how the game it's We will be getting the remade version, which apparently has several improvements despite the removal of H-scenes. But I've seen people like Conjueror and Moogy praise the story - and seem to have faith in the guuys working on the TL. So I'm still looking forward to it.

DragonBall89 11
hello guys, I just found out at Mangagamer are translating Himawari. here it's link for the game https://vndb.org/v210 I wonder how the game it's Based on the art and the description i can't think that it will be better than average, i can't understand why mangagamer would translate such a VN to be honest. Until now it was either Nukige or some which looked like had a decent story, this one doesn't strike me as either of those. Point is that they always chose sex and or story until now, like euphoria, free friends, boob war, eroge, kara no shojo, go go nippon, da capo. To be blunt this game for me seems so uninteresting that i don't even wanna waste my time downloading and trying it out just to find out it wasn't worth it. Of course it could still be a jewel, despite the average art and worse description, just like To the moon, but not likely. But i guess everyone has it's own taste so just try it out and if you find it good buy it, if not, delete the shit out of him.
Decay 25
Himawari is famous in Japan, it's probably the most popular doujin VN ever made. Its story is by all accounts quite fantastic. It comes very highly rated by critics and fans alike and is a personal favorite of the translator on the project. So basically if you want to know why MangaGamer chose it for translation, it's because it's very popular and the translators love it. Seems like pretty decent criteria to me. edit: While I think the art on the doujin version is actually pretty decent, the MangaGamer is releasing a PC port of Front Wing's remake, initially released for the Vita, with all new art. You can see some sample CGs here: Himawari - The Sunflower Edited January 21, 2016 by Decay

Amazing series, but the most ass-awful art you could ever find, in the original releases. Similarily - though it has nothing to do with MG - Tsukihime (though its style grew on me in time). As for the description on VNDB - to each their own, but it sounds decent to me - or at least, I've seen far, far, worse concepts.
kliks 14
Seems like Root Double Kickstarter is doing badly, well Sekai had it coming with their bad business practice.
Harlequin 17
So... the game won't come out if the kickstarter fails, right? That's how it works? Yet the translation is basically done already, considering their planned release date. Just feels weird that nothing would come of it because of a fucking kickstarter. Too bad I'm not rich. I'd throw in $7000 if I was. Probably gonna upgrade my pledge to some extent later though. I need Root Double.
Decay 25
Seems like Root Double Kickstarter is doing badly, well Sekai had it coming with their bad business practice. You post this right as they were turning things around and started doing really well? lol
kliks 14
You post this right as they were turning things around and started doing really well? lol To me it still looks like it is doing badly. And in case it really fails the the best thing we could hope for is that Regista abandons Sekai and realise it on their own or with one of the other publishers. I can say for a fact that the Kickstarter is not doing badly because it a bad game or that no one wants it but instead cause no one wants to give Sekai any more money, and you cant really blame them for it after all the crap Sekai did. Decay 25
You can't really say that it's a fact people don't want to give sekai project any more money. I'm sure there's a few people out there like that, but a far bigger factor is how anemic the tiers were. They expected you to pay a lot of money for very little in return. Most SP kickstarter campaigns gave you adequate rewards for your pledges, but this one threw that out the window. They recently added extra stuff to the various tiers and that has helped things a little.

Never supported any kickstarter project, i just don't have the faith that it will be finished, and even if it's finished i have my doubts about the quality. Maybe if i would win the lottery i might support a few projects but not sooner, but then again if i would win the lottery the first thing i would do concerning the translation of games would be to assemble a good (small) team and start translate Aiyoku no Eustia and not supporting some dubious looking projects. I don't say that sekai projects are dubious, i speak in general, there were quite a lot of projects abandoned on kickstarter, and the money, well obviously most of it if not all gone. It's like this, give me a million $ and i will make a hundred, but without that one million it is next to impossible. It's the same if they would have the money to start their business they might actually have a chance, but they don't, i know, it sucks. The world is cruel, life is a bitch, and i love it, but they're doomed........... probably, but i believe in miracles

DragonBall89 11
So, you didn't funded the Muv-Luv Kickstarter? Look, i understand where you're coming from but this kind of charity is not my thing. On the other hand i'm totally against piracy, i know, i know, i do it as well, but if the plus income could help game company make a better game than i'm all for it. These guys are not prostitutes so why pay in advance, and while i have respect for everyone who makes games out there, translation has nothing to do with making games, i have 2 native languages and a few years back i did some translating for a few weeks, nothing serious. On average i translated 300/hour, so i understand it's really not that easy, but heck, if i can do it, if the fan translators can do it, then they should be capable of it as well, and if they don't that just means that the era for VN for the english speaking audience is not yet here, though if i look at Mangagamer, i can boldly state, there is a VN community out there, cuz otherwise they would have went bankrupt long ago. The ending of alternative disappointed me. After all that shit i went through with the protagonist that ending for me was the worst, they could have easily made one more ending, just a few minutes, but no, they just had to finish it like that. For him to lose all his memories, was a total clusterfuck, i don't care if he would have had nightmares, main point is for me to feel good , but seriously, at the end i felt like everything was for nought, this is the only reason why i liked Muv Luv more than Muv Luv Alternative.
