eta 10
So what's with Sharin? If I recall they already have a patch and it was pretty good. Is this like an official translation now?

leonzell 14
though its nice that the novels we loved reading years ago are getting wider attention and becoming more easily (and legaly) available, though i would like it more if they had more of a focus on getting new novels translated instead of taking other patches that already exist and making it official. OneManArmy 82
focus on getting new novels translated instead of taking other patches that already exist and making it official. Well if you want to make money easily...
Harlequin 17
Taimanin Asagi 3 English translation path, for those who care about that. He kept it under wraps for a long time I believe due to a potential C&D from Lilith. But now the full patch is out and they can't do anything about it anymore.
Azengar 12
Well if you want to make money easily... Not to mention they're going to kickstart it on top of this, they sure like milking the players. :\
DragonBall89 11
Not to mention they're going to kickstart it on top of this, they sure like milking the players. :\ and here i was, thinking about the same thing and yet they stole my idea, preposterous. On a more serious note, while i do think that this is a good thing for the VN genre, because this could help "advertise" this feeble industry and also because Sharin no Kuni is a really good one, i still agree with "leonzell" about translating some new ones instead of copy paste and maybe re-check the grammar, which shouldn't be that hard if you're a native english speaker. leonzell 14
going quite a bit off topic, what is everyone's opinion on RPG's ( as in classical ones without (or with very little) VA) considering other than the fact that you travel in an overworld and control where you go, the general structure is similiar to a gameplay VN as in story driven with gameplay, i'm bringing this up since FF9 just got released on steam and its one of my favorite. I play them all the time on the emulators, also why not make a thread for it ?

Only ones I've played in the last 15 years were the Kiseki series (Trails 1 and 2). One of the best RPG series I've ever played~ EDIT: More on-topic, looks like MG convinced Steam to put Gahkthun on Steam uncut. Should be interesting reactions, what with at least one loli scene (or is that from the Fan disk?), as well as the tentacle scene. Edited April 16, 2016 by Some guy

Totally agree with you, I just find the idea of kickstarting a game already translated simply to put it on steam completely aberrant, if it was for a new translation that would be another story.
