I will not be playing that one for sure
-
No problem, I like to support people in things that i also like ... I am also on a pause right now, real life studdies have taken the tool on me ... But I still know some basics that I got earlier, I am surprised how I remembered some kanji very well and even know their readings even though I didn't try to memorize them that hard. I am fairly confident that I might be able to learn it till N3 level in a year or two.

Two months is still too early to call it "no progress" ^_^ With japanese, you might need two years to get some progress

Thank you very much, and especially thank you for compressing it in 7zip to 2.57 GB (the full game is like 5+ GB) ... I thought about cracking it with a generic crack but unfortunately the game is using a 64-bit steam api so it's not convenient for generic Steam crack that I usually use ... Nevermind, I made it work in SmartSteamEmu ... Here's some pics: I cannot find an appropriate crack for this visual novel but I managed to make it playable using SmartSteamEmu, it isn't particularly hard to setup ... Though I don't know if this visual novel is worth all the trouble, I have heard the translation wasn't very good with this one ... and no 18+ content ... But I guess I will play it anyway xD Edit: Forget what I said about translation ... It's not bad as I thought it would be, aside from some grammar mistakes and maybe typos here and there, I didn't find anything major so far to bother me ... Granted, I only spent like an hour or two reading it but if it stays on this quality, I will be okay xD ... Also, I have read some reviews, the 18+ content isn't really important for this VN from what I have gathered on the net.

It's going very slow on Maggot Baits but that's one title that I am willing to wait for very long

I am not particularly interested in these type of games but for those that are interested, I saw IGG uploaded this game if anybody wants to test it.
-
Thanks Fluffy, I see Umineko is finally available
-
Oh, so you are here too littleshogun ^_^ Nice, thank you, though I already had the old release of it ... As for PS3 modifications, I think that this new ones also have PS3 modifications, I saw somebody on nyaa uploaded for the first two chapters the modded versions ... There's a project on github for it, for those that are interested they can look it up
-
Higurashi also has a fan-TL from back in the day too ... And yet we want a new one retranslated xD
-
Me too, it's a month since its release and still nobody has it ... Strange ... That and Umineko too, wonder if there's somebody that has it

I totally forgot about 4shared, sorry, I got it whitelisted some time ago so I totally forgot it's listed as a virus on browsers, I rarely even use it so I didn't bother checking, don't download if you think it's suspicious, I usually try examining the file before executing it and if it's small enough send it to virustotal.com on analysis ... Though many times it's false alarm, I remember having huge problems with cracks for some Japanese Hentai VNs so I always have to make a judgement myself on these issues whether something is safe or not xD ... Also, sorry again, I downloaded genki from the link I sent you and you are definitively right, it's the first edition O_O I thought they put an updated version but no ... I got my copy from somewhere else ... You can grab the updated version from language.ws, I checked and it's the right one, published in 2011: GENKI I - An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese [second Edition] - Language.ws Genki: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese II [second Edition] - Language.ws I think language.ws requires an account creation to see the links though I am not sure, I am registered there for some time. Also, there's a torrent on rutracker for Genki and it's seeded very well I think: https://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4674046 As for Rosetta, watch out what are you downloading and send everything to virustotal, especially the program itself, it shouldn't be very big, only the files for the language are weighting in several GBs ... You could try using VPN and switching on dynamic IPs if they limit your download ... But maybe it's not even worth it, if you don't make it send me a PM and I'll see what I can do. As for good combination that you mentioned, don't take my word for face value, I am also just testing what works best, many people are vetoing Rosetta because it's simply not the best tool for learning Japanese and many people just stick with better courses ... You can find a lot of stuff on language.ws for Japanese if you are interested, I browse there all the time ... As for Kanji, there are specific books that are dealing on that particular matter and you have the famous Remembering the Kanji series, try looking for it, I heard good stuff about it but I personally found it a little bit hard for me (it requires a lot of imagination on the part of the learner, use of mnemonics and it's good but not everybody can use it) ... If you need good software for testing your memorisation of kanji - good luck with that one, I am still looking for a perfect solution to that problem xD Though so far the best one I found is Obenkyo and it's for Android tablets and telephones, you can't use it on PC sadly ... But it's a very fun application to learn Kanji, I found it quite well made ... I like to test myself every day with it using it's quiz style of input ... There's also Anki but I didn't like it, and apparently many use it but it's also something that I consider "not for everyone" ...

Risetta is hard to find normally because it wasn't popular and even I had trouble downloading it ... Though there should be only 3 levels, not 5 O_O ... Did you mean 5 parts? There's only 3 levels of Rosetta and you need the cracked Rosetta program for it, I got all of it through language.ws site ... Though at the time I didn't find any torrents for it, I think the Russians might have it so it's possible to find it maybe on rutracker ... But it's questionable if it's seeded ... Though be warned, Rosetta will not give you any kind of proficency, better stick with Genki, Rosetta is more to help you stand up on your feet, it's not a real help when learning Japanese because it doesn't explain anything, it just basically functions like a slideshow and a quiz ... The only reason I am using it is because I find it fun xD You probably won't get bored with it like with regular books but on the other hand, it's questionable what you are going to learn if you don't use any other follow up material ... That's why I use Rosetta simultaniously with other material ... About the link you have sent me for Genki, I think you should be fine, although be warned that there are two editions of the book, see if it's a 2nd edition, I think that's the latest ... This is where I got everything Genki: Genki: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese - Japan, My Love (It has all latest + CDs and other stuff) ???????? - Japan, My Love (video files for Genki Books) Rosetta Stone Japanese - Japan, My Love (It seems that level 3 links died from 4share but if you want I can upload them for you somewhere, I still have Rosetta burned on a DVD)

No problem man, I always love to help if possible As for translations, don't expect them anytime soon for any of the titles I listed, none of them are in the translation que by any of licensing companies (expect Maggot Baits) and the only way to read them now is to learn Japanese which is if I may say so - very laborous task ... Well, to be honest with you, I didn't get very far with Japanese even though I started learning it months ago ... Or at least I am not satisfied with how much I have done so far ... In fact, before I started learning Japanese I had two months of just collecting (pirating I mean xD) random Japanese learning material which I obtained from torrents, language.ws and other places, so now I have like I think between 6 and 9 DVD5 Japanese learning material (I burned everything on DVDs in order to free space on HDD) ... Then I spent a long period on deciding with what to go first, what textbook, what learning material, where, how and so on ... So right now I am using Rosetta Stone - Japanese Language (all 3 levels) and a textbook called Beginning Japanese by Tuttle Publishing (http://www.tuttlepublishing.com/books-by-country/beginning-japanese-textbook-paperback-with-disc) ... There are better books out there like Genki series which I didn't start examining yet but will some time in the future ... I have tons of material to study from but there's a major problem out there ... How much time am I willing to put into it every day ... That's what everybody has a problem with ... Especially since it's learning out of a hobby, so it's not school related, you are doing it all by yourself which can be either very fun or very hard depending on what kind of person you are and what approach suits you the best ... Some people are more course-oriented and need somebody always for help and some people like me like to do everything by themselves and this way has it's downsides ... So far, I have learned entire Kana (Hiragana+Katakana, both reading and writing though I think I shouldn't have bothered with the writing, you can learn it in a day or two if you are a hard-worker, I took a week on practicing readings and a month on practicing writing) and so far I have learned 200 Kanji, which is only a small proportion of 2100 and several more Kanji that belong to "Jojo" kanji (standard Kanji that every Japanese learn by the end of the middle school, yes, they are learning it for years themselves since Kindergarden) ... I didn't bother with the writing of Kanji, I only memorised the meanings and most of them I do know how they can be read (they all have 2 or more readings each) ... Kanji is probably the most annoying thing you are ever going to have to bother in Japanese, since they are read per case-by-case basis, and at first it will seem like a never-ending game of memorising ... Though the best way to learn Kanji is to learn vocabulary in my opinion, don't try to memorise readings like a parrot (I tried to do that xD), it's not going to work, better learn vocabulary and through it you are always going to remember how some Kanji were read and it will even help you guess how they are read in some other cases, but there seems to be no hard-coded rule for reading them ... Which is annoying in itself ... Other than that, I'd just like to mention to you that many don't think it's worth learning Japanese in order to read VNs, that's the opinion I stumbled a lot on Reddit and other places where it was discussed, I am not going to go into details for reasonings behind that but if you are like me then you will at least try to learn as much as possible (before giving up at some point if you find it boring after some time) ... If you want more info, tell me, I am ready to share experience with some of the material I used so far

I feel you definitively ... JAST has said this months ago: JAST DevLog ? Will you be translating Potential Ability? I have... But they seem to be the slowest of all licensing companies and I am not expecting them to announce anything Empress in foreseeable future ... And I definitively am into the art of Sei Shoujo's newest VNs xD ... If you are also looking for very good art VNs like I do, take a look at these: 1. Anything Empress (you already knew that one, ahahaha, sorry XD) 2. https://vndb.org/p718 (Studio Jaren - I like their art very much, plus it's hypnotism fetish, I don't think we have any hypnotism VNs translated out there) 3. https://vndb.org/p2764 (Fudageki Soft - their VNs look very good but I don't know whether you like shota stuff and they seem to do some fetishy stuff) 4. https://vndb.org/v19465 and https://vndb.org/v16598 (Silky Sakura, I love the art but I think it's Netorare and I don't know whether you like that) 5. https://vndb.org/v10498 and https://vndb.org/v12335 and https://vndb.org/v17991 (Cattleya, I love the art but I think it's mother incest fetish mostly) 6. https://vndb.org/p491 (Tinkerbell, don't look at older VNs, their later titles look much much better and I am in love with the art, though beware, some of their VNs are quite ... tentaclish) 7. https://vndb.org/v14627 and https://vndb.org/v19169 (WendyBell, very good art and one of them is about cosplaying fetish) 8. https://vndb.org/p200 (CLOCKUP, very good art, and fetishy if I may say so, euphoria and eroge were translated by MG and Maggot Baits is coming someday but they have other very good VNs too) There's more but I think this is enough, sorry for the long post, I just had to mention it because at the end of your post I saw "I really liked Starless' art" and thought that you were maybe like me looking for VNs with very good art, can't blame you for that, I am myself always captivated by art when I see a very good looking VN ... As for Japanese, you better start learning it because machine translators are of no use if you yourself don't know how to make meaning of Japanese, machine translators can help you mostly to extract Kanji out of text and then you have to make the best possible meaning out of everything, I had that problem because Japanese is a very contextual language and machine translators cannot help you with that so you have to do it the hard way I myself am learning it for about several months now ...
-
Maggot Baits will not come soon, MG didn't even start on translating it, I am not expecting it until 2018 at least.

Thanks Ellurion ^_^

If the Root Double' ones doesn't work then we will have to wait ... By the way, I think it's not fully released yet, there's like 3 parts to Muv Luv and the last one "Alternative" isn't yet available ... And no 18+ version has been released so I think we should wait until that becomes available, I think that it will be DRM-free when the 18+ patched version comes.
-
I have this VN downloaded already, I picked it only because it is from CLOCKUP and has a hentai anime that I watched sometime ago xD
-
There's a steam generic crack that might work, I could link it to you and you could try to see if it works with it? Root Double used it, if you want to pick it up yourself, just download it from there, you are looking for "steam_api.dll", it could work like it worked for Root Double.

It seems that every country wants Eroge...
TakiMinase replied to Devspar_Zero's topic in Eroge General Talk
OMG ... THAT MAP BY IVAN O_O ... Everybody wants eroge! xD -
Right now I am reading "Sensei 2" ... a rapist protagonist nukige, which was expected but what I didn't expect was that I was going to feel like I am reading "My Sex Slave is a Classmate" once again because that VN and this one are basically one and the same with minor differences in my opinion, though it seems to me that "Sensei 2" is a little bit better, in terms of better porn ...
-
I checked all of those VNs, they seem to be mostly from Erectlip and One-up ... I am learning Japanese at the moment, once I feel confident enough I plan on translating some of these short kyuunyuu VNs, wish me luck xD
