  1. That's what irritates me the most in VNs, as well. Fate/Stay Night's first H scene, the H scenes later in Saya no Uta, etc. It's frustrating when they feel tacked on just for the sake of having H content.
  2. Finished the Sharin no Kuni fan disc just recently. The original game was fantastic, very unique with some great twists. And the back story on Houzuki was pretty awesome on the fan disc, although the epilogues for each of the heroines got pretty boring pretty quickly for me. I had to force myself through all four of them, being the perfectionist I am. Sometimes I wish I was OK with just skipping stuff like that, would save me a lot of time.
  3. I'm running out of things to say here.
  4. I missed a few days while I was at a resort, so here's two to make up for that.
  5. I really wish this show was better. Fantastic character design and animation, at the very least. (This is a fan drawn picture, though)
  6. Iri has suffered enough, don't let her lose this as well!
  7. Here's one of my favorite Mami images.
  8. My sister knows about and plays through VNs as well for the stories, and my mother has a vague idea of what they're like minus the adult scenes, but other than that I don't really talk about them with others. If a parent walked in on an adult scene and I didn't change it in time, I'd just tell them it's a minor part of the game I have to sit through to enjoy a deep and engaging story. The only one I've played that might be difficult to explain is Saya no Uta, and depending on the scene they walked in on, I really have no idea what I'd say. Probably that there's more to it than meets the eye? I
  9. By skip I meant making liberal use of the fast skip button. I know you still need to play through them before you can get into the true route, but there's just so much text that wasn't critical to the story. I think You's and Tsugumi's routes are probably the most important ones to the plot, and then you could just read the very end of the other two while skipping most of the earlier stuff since it's so similar. I wouldn't do this personally, since I'm a bit of a completionist, but for someone who burned out it could be a way to see the true route without getting too pissed off at Coco and qui
  10. If you made it through at least a couple routes, you could probably skip through the remaining ones so you can just experience the true route. I don't think it would affect your understanding of the story too much. I definitely know what you're talking about, though. Sora's route dragged a LOT for me, and I took several long breaks during the game. But the last route was worth it, big time.
  11. Oh yes, many bricks. I was actually getting kinda bored after the first two or three routes, they were starting to become rather repetitive... but that last route blew me away. Unbelievable stuff.
  12. It's down in the 80s today, at least. And MN does have a lot of wind. Much better than GA and that 90+% humidity, hehe.
  13. Uploading this from Moorhead, Minnesota. And yes, it's not that much cooler here, unfortunately... ugh.
  14. I enjoyed Catherine quite a bit, definitely one of the most unique gaming experiences of my life. I only ever got one ending, though... still need to go back and see some of the other ones.
  15. I'll probably miss a few days. Heading north to MN for a while to escape the heat!
  16. Kajiura Yuki is probably my favorite composer right now. Noir has a great soundtrack, along with Kara no Kyoukai, Xenosaga, Fate/Zero, Madoka, etc. Here's one of my favorites. [video=youtube;9O3-ohtxxsw]
  17. If you want something dark, you can always try out Saya no Uta. It's written by Gen Urobuchi, the guy behind Madoka and Fate/Zero, and really is an extremely unique and short experience (about 10 hours long). It's also very gruesome, though, so it depends on how well you can stomach that sort of stuff. It was my introduction to visual novels, and what really hooked me on them.
  18. Yeah, when I maxed out social links in one playthrough in P3 I ended up enjoying the game less because I was so focused on making certain deadlines and getting courage maxed by a certain point.
